thanks for the update and it's nice that you take time to post all these pictures, and not to sound mean, but why bother posting an update if the project has been a hole for the last year and is on hold...i just don't see why you would bother....

After looking through Dubai's next supertall monster projects proudly presented at Cityscape, I recognized the ugly suffix "On Hold" at the CS thread... . Very strange - it seems to me almost as if Chicago and Dubai were on different planets right now.

I really keep my fingers crossed that the Spire and Waterview Tower will be on track very soon - they're among my favorite projects wordwide!

Interesting. Looks like a more rigid/more permanent chainlink fence is going around the huge hole.

Security reasons? They're securing the site for the foreseeable future?

If you know what to look for the site changes all the time. You just have to have a keen eye.

Great updates harryc.

Not a good sign. It's probably going to be a substantial fence for safety and security reasons, to keep some drunk from falling into the core. Once it's finished, I have a feeling there will be very little activity on the site for quite some time.

I hope that everyone understands the level of commitment that Kelleher has in this project. Not only has he dumped over 200 million of his money into the project but he has moved his entire family (kids and wife) to Chicago in order to oversee the construction. He owns the land so as long as he pays the taxes on the land he can sit on it as long as he wants.
