my apologies in advance,
this is a little off topic but still relevent.
the spire has 1194 units for sale so does this make it the worlds denses residential building. or is there a building with more units? (im thinking something in china or beijing if there is)
i dont include commercial or hotel buildings because there populations vary. and residential building have a more stable permanent population.

How is this bad for the pension fund holders? Most bets are that this building will be profitable if it is built.

Please refrain from using the word "titillating" in the Spire thread...

elderly pension funds are not going to be involved in this. if your more than 10 years from retirement (like me i am a member of the teamsters union) then those funds will be used to finance this building and given enough time to recoup there investment.

Right, but we are talking 5 years from now. Also I don't think that this sort of clientele is that affected by all this economic downturn. Of course they lost something, but I don't see too many vacancies in high end apartments in Park Avenue in NYC, which is similar in price to Spire. IN the end - this is going to be one iconic building with prestige of living there going through the roof and with million dollar views from the window. So for anyone trying to find a good investment - this should be a very good idea of doing so. I mean this is the hottest thing in all USA today - no doubt about it.

The good news is that someone still wants this tower to be built.
But nowhere is it mentioned that money have began flowing into the project."YET"
So still on hold, until proven otherwise. By harryc most likely. I swear it I think this guy is camping over the construction site.

pal.

I 'm not sure if I would put my pension into this. At least not before I saw a thorough calculation of costs and profits.

Encouraging. Might I suggest it grow some (poss internal) wind turbines and apply for massive stimulus funds.

Lovely design. Let's hope it gets underway after the financial crisis.
