How does everyone feel about moving this Spire to the site of the former Duetche Bank building and making it part of the WTC of NYC. They can rename it the NYC Spire.

Perhaps building it there can result in easier financing

...maybe somewhere else in NYC, but not there. 1WTC (Freedom Tower) must be the dominant structure at that location. Otherwise, what's the point?

The developer is still scrambling to get financing for the Spire. His permits have not expired so there's a thin sliver of hope.

Don't say that, no one knows. I think you'll find that the site will still be there next year, clearly the market has to get better for them to move forward. But I highly doubt they’re just giving up on this building.

Still on hold and possibly cancelled.

As it stands now, its definitely leaning more and more towards being cancelled, however we can still hope that the developer is eventually able to secures financing.

Would you guys accept a compromise in the form of a redesigned, shorter tower?

I'd compromise for a shorter tower as long as it was still a supertall and had a similar design.

I would. I think it would fit the skyline better at 1777 - 1800ft. Why at least 1777ft? Should be obvious...

If anything, it should be redesigned with a 200' or 300' spire for broadcasters. But a spire, NOT an antenna. The extra revenue from broadcasters could help with financing.

Or just add the decorative Spire to what's already there.

the current design is the best in my mind. I realy don't like any of the others, especially that half spire half antenna design, that one realy blows
