USCN Application- The City State of Argel

It has been called to my attention to make an application for my new city since I have abandoned the old one and it makes sense since those who come in with new cities make apps. and I support equality between all of us.

Here it goes.

FLAG:
There are seven small stars which represent the seven regions of the nation, and the big star which represents the union of all the regions into one nation.

Democratic City State of Argel(CSA)
Here is its location in the Simworld map:

The CSA has two major Metropolitan Areas, one in the Argel bay and the other other one in the Montevideo Straits.

These are a few statistics about the city-state.

Argel City

The capital city is in Argel and the government is a Socialist Democracy.
The neighborhoods of Argel

Southern Argel and the International Port

The Port

Downtown Argel and its monuments:
This is the Gate to Argel, whichs marks the entrance into the downtown area and its monumnets, here you have Cantral Avenue and Horizontal Avenue

Central Avenue and the Arcos, which represent the old entrance to the city when it was still small.

This is the end of Central Avenue and it is crowned by the Tower of Liberty and the waterfront.

Argel city pano:

Here is the before and after picture of the Plaza Bolivar (the old downtown). After the rehabilitation projects, The national University and the U. Autonoma de Argel were installed in the place where they used to be. The Opera has stayed in its old place.
Before

After

After Night view

Here are a few close ups that I owed you guys.
This is the Angel of Independence. Many city protests begin here and go all the way to Plaza Bolivar.

This is the University of Architecture Mies Van Der Rohe.

This is the Harbour, here you can see the statue of the proletarian revolution, dedicated to all those who fought and died in the revolution of 1984.In this picture, the harbour reminds me a little og Hong Kong too..

Olympic Village, with the Argel Stadiom. It was here that the Simlympic games took place in 2002.

Little Napoli.Argel used to have many Italian immigrants, however over the years the Italian population blended with all the other peoples living in the area. Now all the citizens of Argel are called Argelinos with many different origins of course, as can be shown in the language map below.

Pirates Stadium in Southern Argel, one of the other national league teams.

Ciudad de Montevideo

Ciudad Montevideo is the capital city of the second largest urban area in the country. This city is also the regional capital of the Montevideo department. it has a temperate climtae but can also reach temperatures around ā celcius in winter but 40-55 degrees celcius in summer. Hence its beaches but also pinetrees and northern european style buildings.
This is the old city of Montevideo. It has the old port and the basilica of St. Michael. It is populated and has little shops and cafes. It is one of the top tourist attractions in Montevideo.
In this pic you can also see the Newport Library & Museum of International Historical Archives-NLMIHA. It is dedicated to the city of Newport because of its help in building the younf republic of Argel. The big dome building in the center.

This is Moscu Lake, a place for sims to come and chill in sunny summer days. in winter, sims can ice skate in the lake aswell.

This is the Estadium do Principe Giorgos. in the end it was not built near the CBD because the Universidad Autonoma de Montevideo is located there, so it was located in the forest near the port.

This is the small CBD of Montevideo, the city is young but already counts with medium size skysrapers.

Finally, this is the port of Montevideo. it is a small port but an important asset for the economic growth of the city since this city is the largest urban agglomeration of the region.

This union has been dead for nearly three years now. You could try initiating a new one here that doesn't share a name with one of the other existing Sim City unions like the SCJU. I don't know how much success you'd have, though, as not a lot of people come to this section anymore.

True. It's sad to see the forums demise from what it once used to be. Muyangyang really held it together.

It isn't just this forum, but the SC4 world all together. I really do miss the good old days.

Simtropolis still seems pretty vibrant, so I don't see the whole online SC4 community disappearing any further than it was in 2008/2009, what with a good portion of Simtropolis also dedicated to CXL players.

People play CXL? Yeah, it is true ST seems strong. The union community however is slowly dieing out. Perhaps that will change if they ever get around to SimCity 5, word has is Maxis is making an announcement next week...

Seems a lot of fans have started to come to terms that there's a snowball's chance in hell that there will be no true successor to Sim City 4 that is made by EA, and they've adapted by realizing that Cities XL is a lot of fun and is very moddable. There's already boatloads of mods out there for Cities XL.

They were also seeking experienced console developers, so it's either cross-platform with a port for consoles or it's something different than we were expecting.
