Palacio cancelled... No! Well that will teach me for not visiting this site in awhile. What a bad break for Panamanian highrise development. There were supposed to be three supertalls in the city...twins aren't so great when you were supposed have triplets. Plus, it was so unique!

I think there are still 3 mega talls under construction: Ice Tower, Los Faros de Panama, and Megapolis Tower.

Soil Testing, site prep, demolition, etc I would not consider u/c. But this is the foundation being dug and the retaining walls almost completed. Just walking by there you feel the ground vibrating with drilling.
To me it would be like saying a highway is not under construction because the material (asphalt etc) has yet to be poured. Anyway when the caisons or whatever the wording is starts going into the ground soon there will no questioning of the status.

Well said Panamaboom. And yes, construction officially starts with site preparation and earthwork before any foundation and/or retaining walls are built.

And Panama is not on the northern side of the Canal, for that matter it would be south america then.
I think it depends where you grow up. In the USA for example, people are taught there are 7 continents.

Well maybe you´re half right, but it´s not propossed, so you tell me what it is.
About to be U/C?, Almost U/C?, Pre U/c?, I´ll apreciate if you can explain that to me

Yeah I guess, but Wikipedia says there are seven I can´t argue against that

The article also didn't necessarily say that there are definitely 7 either. From the artcle:
"The 7-continent model is usually taught in Western Europe, China, and most native English-speaking countries. The 6-continent combined-Eurasia model is preferred by the geographic community, Russia, Eastern Europe, and Japan. The 6-continent combined-America model is taught in Latin America, the Iberian Peninsula, Italy, Iran and some other parts of Europe. The 5-continent model is taught in the Iberian Peninsula, some other parts of Europe[citation needed], and many Latin American countries"
So actually, you were both right

I was taught (growing up in latin america) that North America and South America are two different continents separated by the isthmus of Panama (panama canal to be exact). And for that matter, the country of Panama is both in North America and South America and the City of Panama is therefore in South America. (Althought Panama City is spreading to the west shore of the canal so one could argue that the city is in both continents...kinda like Istanbul in Turkey)

interesting ! I was taught there are only 5 continents and some other sub continents such as North, Middle and South America. Let me say that wikipedia is not such a confidential information source, but its true that there are those little differences about geography.....

Can we just have construction updates, new renders and news on the tower guys. (A little bit of diversion is cool, but it's turning into your own lil discussion).
