Also the owners of the houses would probably be happy that sksycrapers are being built around them because of the increased property cost. what is the reason for money to go to dubai, as compared to a city like ny?

Dubai in most peoples opinion I beleive has better weather than New York and has way less crime than New York. Its also modern, new and luxurious. I just read an article about European millionaire and billionaire investors are buying real estate in Dubai because of its cheap prices compared to Monaco, which is a bursting bubble and London. I am not saying Dubai will soar and other cities will fail, what I am saying is Dubai will grow and become even more of a world mega city. The only answer is time itself.

Dubai's property value has also increased and is forecasted to increase for the rest of the year. many developers are building in dubai and many jobs are opening up. Dubai is also on track to be the 3rd most visited city in the world behind London, and Bangkok. The dubai international airport carried 72 million passengers last years and Miami carried 15 million and Washington Dc carried just over 20 million passengers.

The vast majority of new developments has been built on empty land. When I came here in 1999 the city had only 800,000 inhabitants, now it has almost 2.5 millions

The only building I've seen them demolish in Dubai to build a new skyscraper is an old hotel lowrise from the 80s or 90s. The rest have been empty sand lots.

Yeah, there are a lot of potential plots still, no need for much demolition

Yes, a low rise hotel and the adjacent Hard Rock Cafe building (also housing a different, not related night club)

Guys, the construction boom is happening on empty areas because of freehold ownership zoning. Though demolishing and rebuilding has always happened
