Much taller than Princess Tower, official height is 427M, so its taller than the roof height of the one WTC and 432 Park Avenue Princess Tower and even the Kuala Lumpur twin towers, if this was built a decade ago, it would have been the worlds tallest building.

True Marina 106 is a level one skyscraper the only other buildings that compete with it on a height level are the Burj Khalifa, SWFC, ICC Tower, Meccah Royal Clock Towerand One World Trade Center.

URL to a picture showing progress on both Marina 101 and Damac Residenzes. Scaffolding is coming down and cladding is visible on the crown of Marina 101.

But... the Sears / Willis Tower is ~442 meters and the Petronas Towers, ~453 meters so while yes, Marina 101 would beat the old WTC, 432 Park Ave, it wouldn't.. quite be the tallest building .

I'm only nitpicking though so no offense meant. But yeah if this was built half a decade or more ago, yeah, this tower would certainly be amongst the tallest towers ever constructed at that point.

Amazing to think that the majority of these newer towers are RESIDENDTIAL. If you would've asked the use of the tallest buildings 10 years ago, I bet most would have probably said they'd be built in the US for office use. Interesting how things have changed.

10 years ago Taipei 101 was already becoming the tallest in the world. The boom of dubai and china was already well underway, the current new york boom was nothing to think about, so if you were interested in skyscrapers and followed thd trends you should have seen dubai and china already coming 10 years ago.

DUBAI | Marina 101 | 427m | 1399ft | 101 fl | T/O

I am worried about the proportions of the crown. I expected, that the outer edges of the crown reach to the edge of the building. Somehow, it looks like the crowns looks smaller, as if it wouldn't fit.

Don't worry, I think only the metal structure is smaller. But the cladding will reach the edge of the building.
If you look closer to this picture you can clearly see on the left that the cladding is over the metal structure and that it's not directly based on. So the smaller structure dosn't mean that the finished cladding will keep those proportions.

I've spent so much time following this tower that when its complete i am going to feel like I was a part of building it. This Tower actually looks better than what I thought it would look like.

This tower would make for a great lego architectural set.

This crown is really Starting to Look quite Marvelous.

i Just hope they clad it all and don't leave anything open. Something like the elite residence with a box in the centre of the crown doesn't look good.

and if they do the integration into the Main facade properly it is gonna be a Stunner.

^ For many years this thread was dead, but in the past six months it has received 30 pages of thread. Making this the threads busiest time.
- City Scape Global is 9/8-9/10, is anybody going.
- For fun I was loking up apartments in Dubai. Elite Residences has a 4 bedroom apartment only 12,000 USD monthly. I think thats a little outrageous.

Yes, of course I was aware of their upcoming status back then. It's just hard to think that for some of us, that was *already* 10 years ago. It still feels like an in-progress thing.
