I wouldn't say impossible, and it isn't ridiculously far. Here is Dubai compared to Shenzhen at the same scale with placemarks where supertalls (complete and U/C) are. It is missing three in Dubai and five in Shenzhen due to the limit for how many that can be displayed at one time in Google Maps.

Also, a map with most* buildings over 50 floors (com and T/O) which probably gives a better indication of the spread of skyscrapers.
I would imagine there will be reasonably sized skyscrapers connecting the supertall clusters in Shenzhen in a decade or so.
*I have finished every city except Hong Kong, where I stopped after 200 or so, which is only about half!

Nope. Dubai would never be as big as Shenzen, plus the new developments are scatered more inland, and not alongside SZR, which for most part has villas on one side and industrial complexes on the other.

I predict that Dubai would continue building on their artificial islands. I wouldn't think they will try to combine the Marina and the Downtown together.

connect marina with downtown would be nice, but dubai do the false projects
they havent build up full buissines bay, they build at the same time big citys like sports city or dubai land. al not good!!!!!
when dubai will make more development, build up the palm jumeirah complete..
and then build the financial free zone projects at the world central airport.... and complete first phase of dubai world central!

You seem to miss that most projects are developed by different companys or organisations. It's not one big developer that launches 10 masterplanned districts at the same time...

I know nothing about the speed of the projects in South Asia.
I still think the progress of Marina 101 could be faster.

You're right, the progress here is indeed slow.

I love Dubai. However, with the exception of the torqued tower, these buildings look horrible.

In my opinion 23 Marina looks good, but I can't say the same about Princess Tower. It looks very cheap! But at night it looks pretty futuristic.
