Please, someone explain to me, that why are those buildings so close to each other. I guess there are some 50th floor inner suits with no view at all.

They wanted to create "The tallest block in the world". It is intended to be a super-dense cluster of towers which, when completed, will accomodate over 120.000 persons.

There will never be 120,000 persons there. Most apartments have one or two occupants only.

They want to make a unique cluster. I have to opinions about this cluster.
+ It's amazing to see so many supertalls in one cluster so close to each other
- The supertalls lose their dominance, because of the closeness.

1. Land is expensive so they crowd the buildings to get the most value from the land.
2. Everyone wants a corner view or a whole floor to themselves, so the buildings are skinny.

Buildings are skinny because residential buildings are skinny in general, and you can't just build a very wide supertall, as you could with a low/mid rise. They also seams close because they are tall.

It's mostly an optical illusion

1.Probably you're right.
2.You haven't saw the full masterplan yet. They say that this is phase 2 only.

But there are a lot of U/C buildings here (Dream Dubai, Marina 106, The Pentominium, Damac Residence), heck, there are even more U/C building on this block than in whole other countries. So I wouldn't underestimate Dubai for projecting that number.

Huh? We have seen the masterplan for a decade now ...... and it is practically impossible for the block to actually house 120,000 people
