It's great, but I like to see a good amount of historical structures and monuments in a city. Tokyo, unfortunately doesn't provide that (since many of them were severely damaged or destroyed during the horrible bombardments).

Yeah, there are places but you have to go a bit out of your way to seek them out...

For historic Japan it seems Kyoto is the place to go..

Thanks you reminded me of my own visit. I wouldn't say Tokyo is the greatest metropolis in the world, but it is in the top 5 for sure. For historical Japan near Tokyo there is always Nikko which is amazing.

To the guy who said Kowloon girls are the prettiest, I'm not so sure :-) Coming from HK the contrast in natural looks and fashion were remarkable.

Even though Tokyo is amazing I wouldn't spend all my time there if/when I'm coming back to Japan. There is so much to see and do all over Japan.

I think Tokyo is really ugly during the day but fantastic looking at night. For old buildings, go to Kyoto, a beautiful city just 3 hours from Tokyo on the Shinkansen.

The only thing stopping me from going to Tokyo is the fear that I'll never come back...

Maybe its because im used to your "style" of photography, but looking through these photos i kinda get the impression that Tokyo is like a (much MUCH) bigger, skyscraper-version of copenhagen.. (and being a copenhagen-maniac that's a huge compliment!)

Cheers mate!

I agree... Japan and Denmark does have A LOT in common... both socially, financially and visually....

Ofcause Copenhagen could sure use some Japanification . especially in the financial areas built in the 60's and 70's... I just love the huge billboards they put on top of the "lowrises"... gimme gimme gimme!
