i watched that Dubai mega projects. and i had a question about the burj Dubai complex. on the video said that the burj Dubai complex will have 70 high rises. and i looked on aerial pic's of renders and it doesn't look like 70 high rises. is there really going to be 70 high rises at the burj Dubai complex ?? i looked on emporis, and they only show 34 high rises, here's the link

This was known before, i just dont understand this latest article. The first facade test was done by Schmidlin LLC then they have destroyed tons of claddings afaik. And the latest test was done by Al Abbar already, or am i mistaken? This is why they said that Burj is 4-5 month behind the scheduled completion date.

Actually, the podium package was already awarded to Al Abbar, you can check their website, http://www.alabbargroup.com/portfolio/burjdxb.htm,
the real story behind this major shake-up will never be published. maybe it's just because of the technical capability of Schmidlin LLC, in which they don't have the support of the main office in Switzerland, that's why they were moved out from the project, right now, as far as I know, there is a 6-month handing over of information to the new contractor. Well, in that case, this is again a major delay to the project. |
