Drop the 'lane' and just go for White House International Airport? Might get a few flights in we wouldn't otherwise get.

Decent Ryanair sale from LBIA on at the moment - just booked flights to Milan for £10 return! Shame about the £12 'admin fee' added on each flight for use of pretty much any form of card payment, but still very cheap....

What did you do about accommodation?

I always want to take advantage of these cheap flights but then accom hikes the trip cost up loads.

Is there still the demand for holidays in Egypt considering the ongoing protests there although I have noticed that Thomas Cook do of course now fly to Enfidha in Tunisia?

It doesn't really work like that though does it. If it's a good deal to somewhere hot, people will go. Unless it's really serious and people are being advised not to travel, they don't care. As a tourist hub, Sharm is a relatively safe part of Egypt.

Yeah, accom was a bit pricier than expected, but managed to book a reasonably-priced hotel - not too bad between 2 people.

Think we're paying £174 for 3 nights, including breakfast. So not too much each for that amount of time.

Flights to Budapest from Leeds Bradford Airport had commenced as of last Sunday and nice to see high passenger loads on it's initial service. http://www.traveldailynews.com/pages...es-in-Budapest

Yes, my parents happened to be on the inaugural flight out. Apparently they were given free chocolate and a free Rubik's Cube (a Hungarian invention).

From thebusinessdesk.com:

RYANAIR has unveiled plans to offer seven new destinations from Yorkshire.

The Irish airline will fly to Barcelona Reus, Chania, Corfu, Dinard, Kos, Milan and Tenerife from Leeds Bradford Airport this summer.

It will also offer more frequent services on its existing routes to Kaunas and Riga.

Ryanair sales and marketing executive Maria Macken said: "Ryanair is delighted to welcome passengers on-board its new destinations for summer 2012. This summer, passengers in Leeds Bradford will have a choice of twenty-seven top Ryanair destinations."

The company set up a base at Leeds Bradford Airport in 2010 and has gone on to establish a significant operation. Last year it announced it would station a third aircraft at the airport.

Tony Hallwood, Leeds Bradford Airport’s commercial director, said: "As these seven new routes kick off from LBA I’m sure these popular European beach and city break destinations will go straight to the top of the league with our passengers who can now take advantage of excellent value flights with Ryanair."

Yes that's right Leeds No1 but the same routes are very undeserved from Leeds Bradford. The airport looses thousands of passengers from the Leeds Bradford airport catchment area to other airports each month which might have flown from LBA had the right flight at the right price been available to them.

Losses increased to over £10 million last year at Leeds Bradford Airport http://www.efinancialnews.com/story/...adford-airport and Leeds Taxi drivers are in a strike threat over the long running saga over the proposed taxi rank at Leeds Bradford Airport. http://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co.u...sive-1-4450200

Surely such increasing losses cannot be sustainable in the long run and of course something has to be done to sort out this longrunning taxi issue (which should never have gone to a single private hire company imo).

If Bridgepoint sell off Leeds Bradford Airport who could be interested in LBA? Soverign Wealth Funds, BAA and what if the worst comes to the worse and Bridgepoint declare Leeds Bradford Airport as bankrput?

Prehaps the recent drop off in passenger numbers is down to the airport trying to recoup some of those loses and increase the fares to the airlines?
