This area is really nice, except for some of the buildings and all the tourists in the stanley market. Guess lots of people get their income from them though...

I totally agree with you, Stanley is generally nice and worth to visit, but some of the buildings there should be refurbished or even demolished.

The beaches on the east side are better.

I don't think that's an official lifeguarded beach as well. It's used for surfing for most of the time.

I was talking about the one in the pictures. My bad.

Talking about Stanley Main Beach, the BBQ area there is unique.
During high tide, the water may come all the way up and cover the stove.
If you start the BBQ during low tide, you may end up in the water and have to move. It is pretty interesting.

The most interesting BBQ site I have even been in HK.
The stoves can go underwater in a very high tide or strong wave day.
And people have to flee from the water when it comes.

The quick route (less scenery) via Gloucester Road and Aberdeen Tunnel with no traffic: approx 30-35 minutes.
The medium quick route via Queen's Road East and Aberdeen Tunnel with no traffic: approx. 40-45 minutes.
The slower route (more scenery) via Stubbs Road with no traffic: about 45-60 minutes.

This route features stunning scenery from the upper deck of 10.3m buses.

I know it's not to Central but if you're feeling suicidal, you could always take the mini-bus from the top of the shopping centre which gets you to Causeway Bay in like 20 mins!

Definitely not for the faint-hearted! Good fun though =P

The mini-bus runs between Stanley beach right next to the bus terminus and passes by the shopping centre, I think.

Another good bus route for scenery is 14 between Stanely and Sai Wan Ho via Tai Tam Road. But it doesn't very frequent, so you really have to wait for it.
