The Cultural District is one of the projects that i am strongly rooting for. This will put the UAE on the global cultural map!

Work on the Cultural District is on track, in May 2009, we witnessed the groundbreaking of the Louvre Abu Dhabi..

The landscape of the Cultural District already is taking shape. The canal, which will eventually divert water from the sea to flow behind the Sheikh Zayed National Museum and back out to the sea, has been already formed.

Its not a design at all.

The final design has still not been released to the public... It was awarded to Foster and Partners about two years ago, I was expecting something to be said at Cityscape, but no. It will be built on a slight hill, hence the model. We may hear something in June when it goes on tender. Hope it's going to be worth the wait...

On the Zayed National Museum, the main contract will go to tender in June 2010 and will be returned by August 2010; work will commence in November 2010 and will be completed and will be completed by September 2013. Source
Maritime muesium was moved to the Marina District. Makes more sense if you think about it.

Thanks for the pic's!

Very beautiful designs, quite stunning.
However, I only wish that the plan would have some arabian architecture, or at least modern interpretations of arabian architecture since its a "Cultural District".
