ISTANBUL: Istanbul Aquarium
Istanbul building Europe's biggest aquarium!
Istanbul Aquarium represents a first in our country. This project provides vital additional value to the touristic and cultural tissue of mega city Istanbul. The site is 5 km away from Ataturk International Airport, near the motorway and railway transportation systems in Florya, which is at the southwest coast of Istanbul where 11 million people live in. Besides, IDO sea busses have been considered for visitors, who want to reach aquarium by seaway. One of the most important criteria is that, aquarium building is designed as 5 facades since it is located under the landing corridor. The main concept of the site plan design of aquarium project has been considered as "fish skeleton" as seen above. PROJECT INFORMATION LOCATION: FLORYA SAHILI - ISTANBUL LAND: 100,000 m2 TOTAL CONSTRUCTION AREA: 55,000 m2 MULTISTOREY CAR PARK: 32,000 m2 AQUARIUM BUILDING: 23,000 m2 TOTAL TANK CAPACITY: 7,000 m3 TOTAL NUMBER OF TANKS: 74 UNITS CLIENT: ISTANBUL METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY CONTRACTOR: OZTAS-NUHOGLU-ALT ve UST YAPI

WOW! I didn't know that they've already started the construction! It looks amazing and indeed huge and it is also something we really need in our city. Another thing is a big theme park for entertainment. Another one was a major sports event and we have F1 Grandprix now.
With these two finished... Nothing can stop Istanbul...  Istanbul is on the right track...
