That link doesn't work. Neither any other direct link.

I Googled "the palm ae" and found 2 other links that opened the site, but I couldn't access any of the sections there. Maybe the site is under maintanance or there's a problem with the server.

new contracts for some shoreline apartments on palm j

DIB and Bin Belila Baytur sign credit facility agreement for the Shoreline Apartments in Jumeirah Palm

Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) and Bin Belila Baytur have signed a banking credit facility agreement to cover the banking requirements for the Shoreline apartments project on the Palm Jumeirah.

Mr. Ayman Adel Kamal, Senior Vice-President and Mr. Oktay Yavuz, President of Bin Belila Baytur during the agreement signing.

Mr. Oktay Yavuz, President of Bin Belila Baytur said that the project consists of 10 buildings of a total of 1226 apartments and a value exceeding AED 500 million.

Mr. Oktay Yavuz said: 'The decision to cooperate with DIB on this large project was based on the wide experience of the bank's officials and their good understanding of their client needs. We hope that this agreement would be the starting point to subsequently expand our banking relations in other GCC countries.'

Mr. Ayman Adel Kamal, Senior Vice President, said: ' DIB is pleased to cooperate with the company on this sizable project. The company is a subsidiary of a large reputable Turkish based group with international experience in many parts of the world. They adopt a conservative approach to new markets and enjoy high standards in projects management and execution.

'DIB engagement in this project also reflects its commitment to support local projects particularly to reputed developers such as Nakheel.'

DIB has implemented a new strategy to expand its financing services to contractors and to attract the required expertise to meet customers' needs in this sector. The bank has been successful in developing banking products that comply with the Islamic Sharia to meet this vital sector's requirements. Such products have been widely accepted by a number of local and international contracting companies.

I spent yesterday all day on Le Royal Mirage complex and the bridge for the palm was just to the corner of the property.

It was amaizing to see the countless cranes and machineries on the trunk and in the distance, all thosee palm trees planted in some of the "branches". I wish I had the camera with me.

It had effected the beach though. There were a lot of small stones in the sand and was quite dificult to walk at bare feet. Also there was a written warning that becouse of the warm waters many sea life creatures are wandering near the shores so people should try to be carefull and avoid if see them. They were mentioning "moderate danger" and i supose they're talking about jellyfish who can burn skin on contact, maybe crabs as well.

It seams that the Palm has indeed effected the marine life, but not destrying it.

some more oinfo on atlantis

Atlantis Dubai to form largest link in luxury chain

The Millennium Dome project is Kerzner's most high-profile development but it is by no means the most costly or, indeed, the most complicated.

At a cost of $1.1 billion (Dh3.96 billion), Atlantis Dubai is Kerzner's largest project. With a 2,000-room hotel, the development will be similar to the group's Bahamas resort, but with no casino.

It will form part of the Palm, an artificial luxury resort development that has attracted $5 billion (Dh18 billion) of investment.

Atlantis Dubai is a good example of how Kerzner manages the development of its properties. Like many of Kerzner's One & Only hotel developments, financing was complex and relied partly on investment from local partners.

Nakheel, the company leading the Palm development, recently took a 13 per cent stake in Kerzner International for about $225 million (Dh810 million). "We have demonstrated that when we go into regions we establish long-term partnerships," says Kerzner.

Nakheel, he says, "has $15 billion (Dh54 billion) of real estate and has become a big investor in our company." New shares were issued to Nakheel and Caledonian Investments, a long-term investor, also sold shares.

The group uses the same model of attracting investment from developers and property owners for its One & Only chain.

"We have also been paying down debt so that we could get our balance sheet into great shape. So in the last two years we have been laying the foundations for our next phase of growth," says Kerzner.

The resort, which is due for completion in 2007, will rely on its water rides, hotel and aquarium to attract thrill-seekers and families.

Kerzner becomes highly animated when talking about the water rides at Atlantis. "One of the rides is a 63-degree free-fall into pitch blackness. When you're part of the experience like that it changes every time you do it."

Nah, what great effort, I was just chilling out by the pool of the Arabian Court. I wish I could have taken more pictures of the Royal Miragge Resort (took a few) and open a thread about it.

As for the "d", it is the first leter of my family name. It is there becouse of my screan name on another (car) forum and actually lately I was thinking to make it capital or remove it alltogether.
