On the beach of the nearby One & Only Royal Miragge, there were warning boards advising to be aware of sea creatures and the moderate danger they pose, suggesting to look-out and avoid them as well as wearing plastic sandals while going into the sea.

Fairmont's two projects to stimulate tourist interest

Dubai: The Fairmont Palm Hotel and Beach Resort and Fairmont Palm Vacation Club should stimulate additional tourist interest in Dubai, a company official said.

"Both projects will bring tremendous tour-ism, leisure and residential benefits to Dubai," said Wahid Attalla of Nakheel.

Attalla's remarks came during a meeting between Attalla and John Johnson, president of Fairmont Middle East and Africa, who visited Dubai this week.

Johnson visited the Nakheel Sales Centre to take in Dubai's island developments, in particular The Palm, Jumeirah site of the latest Fairmont Hotel to go up on the Arabian Gulf's shores.

The location of the two projects on The Palm, Jumeirah will offer guests fantastic views of the Arabian Gulf and a new level of luxury vacation, Attalla said.

Johnson, Attalla and James Wilson, president and COO of IFA Hotels and Resorts also made note of the progress of construction sites based on the trunk of The Palm, Jumeirah.

The projects include the Fairmont Palm Hotel and Beach Resort, with 300 rooms, and the five star Fairmont Palm Vacation Club.

Attalla outlined the particulars of each project and said that construction was progressing rapidly on The Palm, Jumeirah.

The infrastructure phase is well under way, and in some areas of the crescent it is completed, he said.

Johnson and Wilson had previously seen documentaries of The Palm, Jumeirah and other Nakheel projects, Attalla said.

Nakheel has found a solution to the traffic problems of the palm... SUBMARINES

Quote:
By Saifur Rahman, Staff Reporter

Dubai: Leisure submarines and submersibles will soon start floating out of Jebel Ali.

The Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation has set up a new company, Palm Submarine, to build single-and double-seater Palm Stingrays, said Sanil Mohammad, project manager.
The company has started building its manufacturing facility in Jebel Ali. Construction will be completed next month, with production to begin soon thereafter.
"With the three Palm islands and other maritime projects in the neighbouring Gulf countries, the market for these products has high growth potential," said Harvey Jaubert, chief executive.
"The neighbourhoods in the Palm islands will require these vessels, as will the marine services industry, tour operators and resort hotels, to serve tourists."

Subs for Palm residents
Miniature submarines could be the chosen method of transport for future residents and tourists to the three Palm island developments. The Dubai Ports, Customs and Free Zone has set up Palm Submarine, which will build single and double-seater submarines out of facilities at Jebel Ali.

Thanks for the lovely pics Alt-Tab ^+^

As for the houses, yah they look very close compared to the videos!

I think they should plant trees before building houses because they take more time to grow.

The Garden homes look too close together,

the signature villas (foreground) still look fairly well spaced...

Here is the Palm TV AD from Dubai Sports Channel in Lo-Res:-

Palm TV AD 4.7Mb

For best performance save clips locally before viewing.
Remember you need the DIVX/XVID codec to play some of the videos.

Recommend you install this Codec first:- ffdshow xvid divx Codec ~1.2Mb
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/vi...rs/ffdshow.cfm

Recommend you also use a video player like
BSPlayer 1.9Mb
