VANCOUVER | Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel | 140m | 44 fl | U/C

Height: 140 m 458 ft
Floors: 44
Construction start: Now
Construction end: 2009




- Final plans are first 25 floors as 415 hotel units
with top 19 floors as 195 live/work condominiums.

- Floor space for hotel and general office/live-work
is evenly split at 397,600 and 397,919 square feet.

- Open balconies account for 37,252 square
feet of total floor space in the tower.

- Condominium buyers paid $2,100 per square foot for what the r
ealtor called "the front row seats" for the "water-facing units".

It is slow going for the irregular parking levels. Things will move more swiftly once they get above ground and get past the irregular podium levels.

This project has probably reached above ground now. It's been 2 1/2 months since the last update.

This will look nice on the waterfront, wish it was a bit taller though. A nice building like this should stand out.

I'ts above ground now, although not by much. The pit this building had to fill was huge.

its base/pit was pretty tricky cause that area has some underground roads and stuff plus the skytrain

so it was more than the normal hole - i guess it had to provide connections to the network of underground praking and streets etc.

^ Vancouver is much denser than I previously thought thanks to that image. Anyways the building will be a wonderful addition to the Vancouver skyline
