Oh God Shapoor your pic is amazing thank you alot

First you can clearly see what a huge city Tehran is and second you can see how there are tall towers missin
I just hope Tehran will get a reconizeable Skyline i near future
It could be nice now but there are Glass-Towers missin i think
They are all concrete... Ive read in Iran Towers are allowed to just have 50% of Glass because of earthquakes? Im not sure
If its true then its very sad and we can forget a nice modern skyline

I don't believe glass is a necessity for a 'modern skyline', for a start look at Manhattan one of the first cities to erect a skyline and it is widely beloved... It is hardly a sea of glass. I think you guys put too much emphasis on the use of glass.

Yea ok thats true too but we need both of them
Glass and Steel
Concrete isnt very nice at daylight because it looks too white and boring and in tehran there are very boxy ones...
but in the night they look very nice as you can see from tehran night pics thats because then u just can see their outlines and the lights
But i am sure tehrans way of building highrises will change in a positive way

I only don't like the concrete 'commie block' buildings, though ecbatan does have a peculiar charm to it... Otherwise steel/concrete towers which are not commie block style such as those in Elahiyeh are wonderful. Tehran has a prominent mountainous backdrop, a full glassy skyline will easily look 'washed out'

Mhh i see what you mean...
But lets see how it will look in a few years. Maybe 3?
One thing that makes me sad is that Tehran is so nice when youre walkin or drivin by car i mean everything is so nice especially in the night! Everywhere bright places with nice light effects, many people walkin round, oriental music...
But the skyline is from a few perspectives like a concrete-skyscraper-desert do you know what i mean?
Bayad yezare khoshkel tar konan skyline tehran ro
Wali ziad mohem nist skyline... awal politic ro dorost konan badan be borgh-sazi berezan

@shugs: Agreed. I only hate these so called residential complex towers like Atisaz.

A few glass towers (maybe 5) are enough to give the skyline a modern look.

The Mirdamad tower was introduced in 2002 so it's either approved or cancelled. I don't know about the other two projects, I'll let you know if I find out anything.

I wouldn't trust wikipedia, look at the sources on the bottom of the wiki page, if there are any and they check out, go by them.

All the buildings exist but their height is fake.

Look at Goldis building for example. Its height doesn't even surpass 80m
