Which one(s)? All the ones pictured are lit.

Really nice motorways btw. Very well constructed and pleasing to the eye.

I'm sure that the ones in Bulgaria are better though

Animals, which want to use crossing, don't like strong lights. So often those crossings, if they are short, like the one on the picture, are not lit.

Agreed!
I don't see a reason for those crossings to be lightened.

Certainly! In the Struma motorway the animal passes are lighted with UV lights at night so that animals can get tanned!

I was always wondering, what are those two "cameras" (or whatever they are) thate are looking at each other? Is it a smoke detector?

Not exactly smoke detector (it is diferent), but fog detector. Yes, fog can occur in tunnels also.

I work in this area too, but i'm not into engineering, but into investigating, research and designing traffic infrastructure. It's mostly office work, but also in the field

Very interesting! I have a big interest in that area, too, but I never chose it as my profession (traffic and public/urban transit and traffic). Yet, my wish is to work in the area, i.e. automatic control on the highways/railways, i.e.:

I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but why does this sign say "Blato n/C"? What does that "n/C" mean?

Blato na Cetini i think. It is a standard abbreviation in Slavic languages that the town is situated on a river. (Think of Usti nad Labem in Czechia).
