It seems that on the "Istrian Y Motorway" maximum speed will be 110 km/h instead of usually 130 km/h. Why? Does it mean that the new Y is an expressway-like road?

One more question. What about the future hard shoulder on the west (at the picture: left), i.e. existing lane?

It's really really good to see this sign in Croatia with the line dividing directions that lay on some other route, but for the love of god, why would someone mess this so much up by writing down E751 and A9 instead of A8 besides Rijeka and Pazin? Is there any chance to correct it?

It's because the istrian Y was originally planned as an expressway (2+2 without hard shoulders) with lane-width 3,5 m (instead 3,75 which is a motorway standard), but later the government decided to built a motorway, so the hard shoulder was added.

So it will be a motorway, but because of the width the speed limit is 110 km/h

The hard shoulder on the western carriageway will be built probably after the summer

Signs like this one are common in Croatia, on A1/A6, A3/A5, future A4/A12 and A6/A7...

But on this sign they haven't noticed the mistake (on RI and Pazin direction should be writen: A8). Few weeks ago, I sent them an e-mail with that picture and explanation, so I hope they will correct that

they will correct it when they realize. this is not the first such a mistake. for instance, i remember at exit #9 Sveta Helena A1 indicating to Varaždin (instead of A4), or at Zagreb bypass exit #5 Buzin A2 indicating to all destinations direction east (instead of A3).

line divider for different routes we use for 10 years allready, that is nothing new

Thanks for replies guys, I know you are using it, I just wanted to mention I like the divider. We are trying to enforce it here, so far without success, so I am making a collection of this type of signs throughout Europe. Do you have links to any others (correct ones ) from Croatia?

But in this case, you can see it is a mistake for just 1 reason: take a look at this picture. On the junction sign they wrote it correctly-A8

Wow, things have changed a lot since I was there last year!

Other question: What licenseplate is on the yellow van? I do not recognize it, or maybe it is scrambled?

i will try to find some places where those signs with dividers are placed: along Zagreb and Rijeka bypasses, A1 around knot #6 Bosiljevo, A1 around exit #9 Žuta Lokva, A3 around knot #16 Sredanci

licence plate is temporary plate valid for up to 1 week (those which you get with new vehicles, made of paper)

Yep, it's one of the finest rest areas in Europe I've ever been to. Nice views (mountains and coast), enough space, taste of famous wind (if it occurs) and one thing I appreciated is that even if it is combined rest area for both direction, you can't go into the wrong direction, because parking is direction-separated... Service and prices according to Croatian A1 standards...

Is that new? because I remember just empty space a year ago. I prefer Krka rest area though.
