So, we're almost sure that in 2013 the A1 will end at the Ploce exit.
What is known about further constructions? Will the motorway leave Croatia and go through Hercegovina toward Montenegro or it will pass through Klek, Neum, Doli and Dubrovnik as it was planned? And, most important, there is a timetable for the new construction? Will it reach the Dubrovnik exit before 2015?

I remember reading some news some time ago about starting construction of a section near Dubrovnik. Are they still working there?

absolutely none. double is usually drawn on more dangerous parts where prohibited overtaking is supposed to be indicated in more imperative way

That's what I thougt.

reminds me of some examples like the one below:

No stopping sign on expressway while you can't stop there anyway because it's generally prohibited on motor- and expressways.
Someone certainly wanted to tell seriously - no stopping.

As far as I know the A7 should reach Križišče at the end of 2011, is it confirmed?
Does somebody knows the prediction for further openings? Do you have an idea when it could be open the Žuta Lokva interchange to A1?

To build the rest of the Ionic-Adritic motorway throught Hercegovina (M.Prolog-Počitelj-Trebinje-Grahovo) would it be easier (and then cheaper) than to continuing throught the Dubrovnik region?
Are they working on the project?

Frankly, it is not only about money. Dubrovnikers wouldn’t be too happy to have the link with the rest of Croatia through Serbian part of Bosnia.

Think I’ve seen some plans to reach DU with an expressway, and to detour this IA motorway through Bosnia further south, but don’t think that is serious.

I think that, in this period of crisis, is time to leave out political issues (war was over 15 years ago) and to connect Dubrovnik to the rest of the world.
Because now this beautiful city is totally isolated and this blocks its development.
In any case the major part of the road would be in the FBiH and only 20-30km before Dubrovnik would be in R.Serpska...
To go back to my question: the terrain there is more fit for the construction of a motorway?

not really, it is also mountainous. the only difference is that in BIH there is more free space for motorway (it is not that narrow as southern HR).
issue is that if motorway would pass through BIH, BIH should fund it. it is so simple.
on the other hand, imagine if there were not A4 and A23 yet. what would you think about Palmanova - Trieste through Slovenia before Schengen times?

It's not uncommon for motorways to be co-financed by neighboring countries if they can profit from it too. For example, the Netherlands co-funded the accelerated construction of Autobahn A31 in Germany.
