A new bypass of the City of Zagreb

NEW CITY BYPASS

Translated by google translator

Zagreb as the most important and highest traffic intersection in Croatia, the starting point and goal of many traffic trips that are mediated through six (A1, A2, A3, A4, A6 and future A11) highway directions. They all end, or beginning on the south peripheral road - the existing Zagreb bypass. In Europe, that the corridor is crossed by the Corridor X, Xa and Vb.

In addition to transit traffic, traffic load, now takes over and bypass much of the interior and the spring - the target turnover of Zagreb. Some parts of the bypass, but have now become city roads, where around 70% of the traffic that it takes the so-called waste. urban transport (especially Section Jankomir - Lučko and Lučko). According to data on traffic counts on the existing bypass the city of Zagreb in 2009. There was traffic AADT of 54 542nd Given the rapid development of the wider area of Zagreb and Zagreb County, can expect a high retention rate of growth of traffic load in the future, which leads to traffic conditions unsuitable roads, high category. The existing bypass constantly coming to an increase in AADT, which represents a significant decrease in the level of courtesy.

The construction of the new bypass would come to relieve the existing traffic bypass, and at the same time, the new bypass to maintain a high level of service. According to forecasts from Spatio-road-traffic studies of the wider area of Zagreb AADT in 2018 amounted to 53 711 vehicles on the existing bypass and 19 616 on a new bypass of the city.

Future bypass will be within the billing system, which will provide continuity of driving. In the future hubs shall be the payment on the side toll and transit traffic will be allowed free passage without creating traffic jams at the entrances and exits.
That would be the construction of new bypass Zagreb avoid the crowds that form the helical toll booths at entry and exit of the town.

Croatian motorways are conducting business, and coordinator of overall activity.

Contract is for preparation of project documentation to the level of conceptual design, implementation of the administrative procedure to obtaining building permits, and implementation of geodetic work and geotechnical investigation works to the level of preliminary design for the new ring road of Zagreb. The preparation of preliminary design and route of entry into the regional plan of the Zagreb County.

With regard to possible financing of the roads by European funds, it is necessary to obtain a zoning permit in order to apply for such funding. Therefore, this public procurement covers everything you need to obtain building permits - project documentation to the level of preliminary projects, environmental impact assessment and alignment with the physical planning documents, as well as all preparatory work necessary for the execution of these works (geodesy, geology, etc. )

Wow, this is the first time I've read about this project, and contracts are already signed?

What will the A-number be?

I would think that it is more important to connect the existing northern by-pass than to build another southern by-pass.

And I'm just thinking that a new motorway connecting Karlovac-Petrinja/Sisak-Kutina would make a lot more sense. Traffic to and from Rijeka-Slavonia would not have to go through Zagreb at all.

Another belt around Zagreb does not seem a priority to me... Unlike the A7 from Rijeka via Crikvenica and Senj to Zuta Lokva (A1), but we'll have to wait (unfortunately) for that one.

that's true. if the reconstruct ZG bypass to 2x3, it can do its purpose very well. it is not going through the city nor through suburbs. it touches urban areas at only few places, and mostly it passes far from the city. it is a real bypass, not a city motorway.

This thing won't be built for another 20-30 years, if at all.

This will be necessary some time in future. It is not a priority now, but it is always good to have long term plans for development. It takes time to define a corridor, change country and county maps and so on. Bringing it up now doesn't mean the work will start any time soon as people would think when they see it on the news. I always enjoyed Hungarian maps that showed their infrastructure plans for the next 30 to 50 years

130 km/h is normally maximal speed, 100 km/h in tunnels and sometimes near junctions. Istrian motorways A8 and A9 have speed limit of 110 km/h because they are a bit narrower so this limit will remain even after the construction is completed.

Yes, maybe "some of the...", but the whole sistem is not finished yet.
- We have to wait for two remaining parts of Adriatic-Ionian motorway to be finished (southern part from Vrgorac to Dubrovnik, and northwestern from Žuta Lokva to Rijeka, plus connection from Rijeka to Istrian motorways and plus three short connections with Bosnia and Hercegovina (one southern to Hercegovina, and two northern, included Sava river bridges) and one longer to Hungary (with bridge over Drava river near Osijek).

In fact we're still waiting for the Ravca-vrgorac subsection.... Who knows if they'll really open it before next summer...

Ravca is just a kind of crossroad and small village, but Vrgorac is nearest town. It is planed that Motorway is reaching BiH border also few kilometers before Dubrovnik, so generally speaking it is a part from Vrgorac (area) to (before) Dubrovnik that is left.

I quite know what is Ravca... It's 3 year that I exit motorway there in the nothing...
What do you think the current exit at Ravca will remain active even when they'll open the real Vrgorac exit? What kind of sense will have the Ravca exit at that time?...
