Wrong. Zagreb should be signed as Zagreb/Agram.

No, Rijeka is bilingual, even though you don't use bilingual signage in the city of Rijeka - I don't know your laws, so I don't know why? Zg is not and you use Italian names only for places, which are bilingual. And obviously only in some areas.

That's all wrong! Rijeka is not billingual and there's not a rule (law) to write bilingual names of those cities where there is some minority.

The signs are bilingual in those areas which are bilingual (by county or city statute), regardless of minorities in the cities which are represented on a sign. So, when you are in Istria, you'll see signs Umag/Umago, Poreč/Parenzo etc, but when you're in Rijeka there won't be such sign, but only croatian name

No. Istrian county is bilingual and some of the cities in Istra are. But because of that, all signs on A9 are bilingual.

I presumed that because the newspaper La Voce del Popolo is published in Rijeka and I know there is also Italian theatre, schools ...

Is it then the case with Rijeka similar to the one in Trst/Trieste, which also has all Slovenian institutions, many Slovenians are living there for centuries, but is officially monolingual?

There is a certain number of Italians in Rijeka, but the population in Rijeka has never been so mixed as in Istrian cities. The italian influence came to Rijeka after WW1 and lasted until the end of WW2, when Rijeka and Istra were incorporated into Yugoslavia.

Besides that, Istra was in a special position, because Yugoslavia and Italy signed an agreement in 1954 which had put an end to a Free Territory of Trieste and incorporated Zone A to Italy and Zone B to Yugoslavia, guaranteeing all rights to minorities in both countries. After that, between 15-30 000 Italians stayed in YU and continued living here (today they're Italian minority in SLO and HR)

But, we're off topic now If you want more, read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Territory_of_Trieste

Sorry for OT. I know history very good.
I just didn't know the status of Rijeka today. Thanks for making it clear.

only Gradna and Ježevo in both directions, Marsonija in direction east.

also, if you take exit #14 Slavonski Brod zapad, few hunderds metres after toll station you have Tifon station with LPG. same with exit #9 Kutina.

i have found information that at service area Novska there is LPG, but official web doesn't say so. i know that service area is renovated, so it could have.

@diegobonazzi, web of HAK (Croatian auto club) doesn't say either. But you can open map there and check for LPG in the cities near highway, just like x-type said for Slavonski Brod west

There doesn't seem to be any new road alignment above Matulji and Opatija. Is it then cancelled and existing alignment will be used?
