I am wondering the same, I was merely quoting the media, the joke isn't mine, it's not even theirs as they were quoting the witty locals. But yeah if you want to make jokes about the Belgrade bypass go ahead (for as long as its good of course).

Good lesson on whom to hire for future works The other companies shouldn't act surprised when they are ditched on the next tender.

Dreka means yelling in Croatian, but Drek also means "govno" in Croatian slang, and came into that slang from German word for shit (Dreck). Verso understood the joke excellently. I'm wondering that you did not.

But what have I got to do with Verso and his jokes? I wanted to reply to him that there is no such thing as "Govnarac" but then saw your reply and remembered that in some slang they call crap "drek" but that's not related to Drekavac creature. But it's I would say not what the locals had in mind? At least it doesn't make any sense to me.

Is the lower tunnel just a service access tunnel or it is real access tunnel? Is there some better map of the planned Omiš bypass?

Wondered the same and looked at Google Maps: https://maps.google.de/maps?q=43.449...num=1&t=h&z=17

It's a tunnel of a different road

Here's the whole planned thing: http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=43...om=15&layers=M

I see that Omiš bypass will connect to D70. Will D70 be modernized and straightened up to A1 motorway?

It is planned to build A7 to an interchange with A1 near Žuta Lokva (in fact that interchange is already built afaik), but the plans are postponed to better economic times when more money would be available.

So no connection in the upcoming years.

although traffic amounts become larger north of Novi Vinodolski or Crikvenica, I hope the whole connection will be built. however, this year we should have motorway/expressway from Križišće up to Rijeka, to the whole most congested part will have motorway.
D8 south of Crikvenica doesn't run through many places. the only problem is that it is full of curves.

that road is always empty. i'd say that in the summer the number of vehicles from Žuta Lokva to Senj doesn't exceed 3-4000.

If you can speak German, you can look at the linked movies. At the German TV I saw a report about the D8. The report was called "Fahrt ins Risiko - Traumstrasse an der Adria". I found the report at YouTube

i know for that movie. and i think it is just sensationalism. yes, it is dangerous, but not more dangerous than any montanious 1+1 road in Europe.
but it's a nice documentary if you have time, take a look of it, the road is wonderful.
