Also, in the far future, once Bosnia joins EU, the cameras, patrols, crossings, etc. can be simply dismantled.
It is the most pragmatic one - all the technological solutions would also be accessible by BiH (so that they feel reassured that Croatia isn't spying on them), and if the technology breaks, the border crossings go into operation until the problem is fixed.

There can be many things, not just cameras - for instance, motion detectors near the motorway fence, detectors to detect cars driving slower than a certain speed, no bridges over the motorway and so on. Bosnia would also have the right to have their own toll for the section - automatic traffic counting devices could be used, and the money collected by Croatia and passed onto Bosnia. Bosnia would also retain responsibility for maintaining the road, so that there's no problem with Croatian control of the road.

It just takes some imagination and the will to do so - but if not, the motorway should get built with proper border crossings. Clearly, traffic can't be that much as it is - looking at the new Klek/Zaton Doli crossings, they can't be expecting huge amounts of traffic through there. If the EU is so bothered, then it should pay for a ferry service similar to what exists in the Bay of Kotor.

Or if this is all an impossibility, what about just building a cut and cover tunnel through Bosnian territory?

what about building teleporter to teleport passengers throughout bosnia? you all starting to be really annoying. the bridge is important to locals in peljesac and korcula and will boost tourism in that area and it will be built.

Late president Tudjman, who wanted to settle this thing with late president Izetbegović in 1997, practically gifted these plots to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Even current Foreign and European Minister dr Pusić, once a strong Bosnian supporter when in the opposition, changed hers argumentation and recently denied her support to Bosnia & Herzegovina claims. Thank God, the Ploče agreement is practically dead and will never be live again.

Frankly, I am surprised that someone from Croatia (Bjelovar) is not accustomised with current developement about the Pelješac Bridge.
Recently I found a railroad map of Federative People's Republic of Yugoslavia, issued in the year 1952. http://www.zeljeznice.net/forum/inde...vije-1952-god/

On this map, under great magnification, one can see the real position of border between People's Republic of Bosnia & Herzegovina and People's Republic of Croatia in Neum area in 1952 (1), which is identical to all previous historical borders of this area from the Republic of Ragusa times onwards.

I added on it the current border line (2), with which late President Tudjman unintentionally gifted undisputably Croatian territory to the neigbour state through his Agreement with late Presidency Chairman Izetbegović in 1997.

Thank God, the border line between Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina will eventually go to the arbitration court!

Position of future bridge is marked with (3).

At the same site I found the Road map of Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia from the year 1962.
http://www.zeljeznice.net/forum/inde...952-god/page-3

To be polite to the man who scanned it and uploaded it to that website, I will reupload here only a segment of this map showing Slovenia, Istria and Western Croatia.

Paved roads (asphalt, concrete) were signed in red. Other roads were UNPAVED (green - better McAdam roads; yellow - not so good McAdam roads). It is interesting that the old expressway Zagreb-Ljubljana was signed as a motorway.

Construction site of the junction between D8 (adriatic, coastal highway) and the new expressway Zagvozd (A1)-Baška Voda (u/c). Location is somewhere here. The junction will be in shape of a 2-level roundabout, with D8 going through underpass:

first layer of asphalt is already there:

That's the same with all other segments of Autoput bratstva i jedinstva back in these days. There were only 2 lane expressways and all were signed as motorways (e.g. Beograd - Greek border)
