I agree. Slovenian approach is much better.

e.g. At Sunday I travelled from Poreč to Zagreb through Slovenia. There was a few centimeters of snow between Postojna and Unec exits. Everybody was driving about 60 to 70 kmh without dynamic signalization.

Sometimes even 40 km/h. Ridiculous.

yes, especially in last year or two. as soon as some rain falls, they turn on 80 km/h. nobody cares of it, so that signalization is useless actually.
from last summer idiots have taken Slovenian approach of speed limit in tunnels and now along A1 we have 80 km/h in tunnels, what is dumb.

We have 80 km/h only in the tunnels Šentvid, Golovec and Mali hrib (direction Ljubljana). Oh, and in Trojane since last year or so.

Yesterday was one of the windiest days of the year in Croatia. Wind gusts clocked as high as 217 km/h. Motorways A1,A6 and A7 were closed and a lot of motor vehicles were overturned.

New license plates design

Three awarded solutions have been selected, of whom one will be selected as new license plates design.
The first one is not supposed to have a city label.

Actually, even for the second and the third option, one could have, for an additional fee, whichever letters she/he wants instead of the city label.

Btw, here are some solutions that didn't pass.

I find this one quite OK

In my opinion, the third design is the best.

None of these are good for me. I miss the coat of arms between city and numbers.

Too much information to remember....... to much of colours, numbers and letters.... it seems that we have 100 million vehicle instead of currently 1.8 mil.

The first one, but not for safety reasons.

This is the best solution because this solution simplifies registration of cars bought in the other registration area (or from the person from the other registration area).

We don't change them because we ran out of number&letter combinations, but because of other reasons, such as graphic design, visibility, easier recognition of symbols.

The existing problem is that some letters are hard to recognize even when watching from small distance:
ST and ŠI may be similar, even SL
ZG and ZD bacause G and D have the same shape
O (letter) and 0 (number) are identical
1 may be similar with 7...

So the main reason for changing the plates design is to change graphic design so the plates would be easier to read (also for radars/speed cameras and traffic cameras)

For those who want plates with coat of arms, here-----› http://www.croatiaweek.com/new-licen...for-croatians/ is an article with some possible designs (but I think it's a bit old-from December 2013 I think).....check it out and post your opinion about it!

something like that should be perfect

Police and maybe civilians aswell will be able to look upp city for car, but otherwise it is maybe better not to show city code.

For example when big derby match or any other reason where people could get judged depending where they live. It is not hard to remember.

But from the choosen ones, I would pick the third one aswell. Good color and design combination.
