Yes, it's an expressway, although is numbered A7 (the part of A7 towards SLO is a motorway, instead).

Do B-roads still exist in Croatia? All expressways (brze ceste) I know are either A- or D-roads.

officially not. maybe you will see the signs along A8 as B8, but officialy B roads exist no more. it is quite stupid because there are roads that could (should) carry B prefix, for instance D10, D413, D424...

there is one stupid thing in HR about road numbering that is present in outher coutnries too: all roads that are managed by concessionaires may carry road number A (and previously B). all other that are managed by HC (Hrvatske ceste - Croatian Roads, state owned road company) may carry only D, Ž and L prefix (yes, we have also Ž and L roads ). according to that, this cannot carry A or B name.

i find it extremely stupid that road name depends about which company manages the road.

So Croatia and Switzerland are the only countries in Europe to use the A prefix for both motorways and expressways.

And Spain, although this what they call expressways is regularly proper motorway.

I wouldn't say exactly. Only 2 expressways are signed with "A":
1) Rijeka bypass (A7), althugh it's signed as an expressway) and have blue signs like other expressways
2) Orehovica-Grobnik section of A6 is signed as an expressway, although it has motorway-wide lanes (3,75 m) and emergency lanes. Also, it has a mix of blue and green signs

Also, I don't think the situation is messy like in Italy, because our problem is only with expressway numbering scheme. All motorways, public ones managed by HAC or those managed by concessionaires are signed as "A" roads and have green signs, while expressways are managed by HC and don't have separate designations different from other state roads (for example "B" instead of "D").

Well this is what I find messy. And it is the same as in Italy. We have better situation because Italy made additional mess with those raccordo autostradale and FiPiLi things.

On 14.09.2016. construction of Sava bridge started near Svilaj. Bridge will connect Croatian motorway A5 and Bosna and Hercegovina motorway A1 on corridor 5C (Budapest - Osijek - Sarajevo - Ploče)
Cost is about 22,3 mil €, lenght of bridge is 660 meters, 3 lanes in each direction, each lane 3,5 meters wide. Bridge should be opened for traffic in two years.

Have they opened the interchange Svilaj? It's a pity if you can't access motorways in the Sredanci junction. It's a perfect location for an industrial zone.

Not the interchange but just an ordinary exit, the last before future border crossing. Opened a year ago.

Already a year ago? Yes, an "ordinary exit" is called an interchange.

Oh, a speed camera (or it's box at least), thank god this part has 100 km/h speed limit and not 70/80/90 like the rest of Rijeka bypass.

What happened to all Croatian motorway projects?

I remember many years ago, they used to build motorways so fast!! Every year when I drove through they allways opened new sections (on A1), and they said the A1 to dubrovnik would be completed in 2014? The same thing is happened here at A5, wasnt this supposed to be finished a long time ago?

Interchange is 2 km north of it (A3xA5). You cannot call that minor exit interchange. I guess.
