Damn true, I am hitting the Velenje/Rogatec route pretty often

would somebody translate page 35, please?
(I think this is about Zagreb and surroundings...)

it's something generally about future of traffic around Zagreb (not only motorway, but also railway, air and river traffic), but really general things. those roads from that map shouldn't be expected in next 10 years

hehe... map really looks amazing i just wonder when would that be...
i would say around 20 years or even more..

that second south bypass isn't needed at all now... down there are just villages and rural landscape...

but i like that railway idea that follows bypass from Jankomir towards Lucko...

and Riverport Rugvica lol it just seem soo far in the future

oh yea, interesting on that picture... they don't have northern bypass that would go on Medvednica hills... i would say that is more realistic than some of routes that are on picture...

There are plans that Zagreb-Karlovac section will be upgraded to 3+3. When can we expect that to happen? This section really needs that.

I don't get that second bypass. Wouldn't widening the current bypass be better? It's not like it runs directly through the city.

ofcourse... that second bypass is way too much fairytale.... there aren't so much people in that surroundings that would use it... not now, not even in 20 years...
and i think they will rather widen existing bypass than to build another one...

but for now i think Lucko intersection is on turn to get fixed... it was built long time ago, and designed for much lower traffic... there was something in newspaper about it, but they didn't say when they will start renovating it... it's a great problem how to divert traffic while they renovate it...

but city is growing. current bypass allready cuts Buzin (south part which is becoming business area), east near Ivanja Reka (commercial and living areas) and west near Jankomir and Savski Marof (commercial and business areas)

true... it is developing pretty fast... but existing bypass with one additional lane would solve lots of problem... this second bypass is just too far from built-up areas...

the second bypass would be not for locals but for transit traffic...

advantages:

- takes away the transit from current bypass

- creates alternate route of the current bypass when accident or repairs/upgrades blocks or slows the traffic on the current bypass

i think multiple rings are necessary... perhaps not yet, but certainly by 2025.

i'm still somewhat sceptical about that second bypass...
somehow i can't imagine so much traffic for two highways there....
and even the bigger cities don't have two bypasses...

i would love to see new Lucko intersection, then 3+3 on bypass and 3+3 towards Karlovac...

actually, we desperately need 3+3 not only at Zagreb - Karlovac, but also at whole ZG bypass, from toll station Zaprešić at A2 continuing across knots Jankomir, Lučko and Ivanja Reka at A3 all way till knot Sveta Helena (or toll station Sveta Helena) at A4.

What are the traffic volumes there? (or in Croatia in general).

i had precise table, but i've lost it and cannot find it anymore i remember that the most crowded section was at ZG bypass at A3 near exit Buzin, i'm not sure was it section Buzin - Ivanja Reka or Buzin - Lučko (probably that second one), it had average about 40000 vehicles per day

40.000 doesn't require 2x3. There's plenty of room to carry up to 65.000/70.000 without significant congestion. However, if they project higher volumes in the future, it's smart to widen the motorway during the next couple of years.

In the Netherlands, there are 2x2 roads that carry over 100.000 vehicles/day.
