If it is so important what is the number of that road, is it OK to be simply 4a? In other words, a branch of the national road 4 which is going to be a short expressway, connecting A2 and the national road 2.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Highways_in_Greece

To my knowledge, there is no highway in Greece with U-turns and by the way the road infrastructure is in general better than that in the former GDR, despite the huge amount of money that was poured from West Germany after the unification.

The whole road numbering (and signing) thing in Greece is a total mess, as we have said before. Old legislation, old... minds, contradictory legislation (for example, what was the purpose to allocate numbers to motorways in 2008 and change some of them in 2015?).

Certainly it is the most chaotic in Europe and worse even than African countries (with no intention to "attack" on Africans). I wonder if it would be better not to put any numbers at all. Quite a lot of numbers and even colors on signs are wrong! In any case, the only Greeks that seem to care about such things may be found here at SSC and at the road thread at stadia.gr.

On the other hand the Directorate of Road Infrastructure has made an extensive work into putting together the existing legislation, decisions etc. as I have indicated by providing the "okxe" link. Even they admit that they have included "whatever they could find into their archives". As I have said in my previous thing they consider some motorways as parts of the national roads they have replaced (I gave the example of A1 - I would add the A27 as EO3 to indicate this more clearly), but they cannot do the same for motorways that do not follow any pre-existing national road. With their approach the A2 west of Thessaloniki should take administrative designations of EO4, EO20, EO15[?] and EO6. So they have left it as X2 for future use. The A6 is another similar case. This is simply because they haven't tried to include the administrative within the operational situation. And this leads to misunderstandings to those who sign the roads as well - although I also doubt if they know their... object. And as the administrative division of the road network has to do even with... building a house, 20 or 40 or 60m (or whatever) away from the axis of the road, it is difficult to take decisions quickly.

This may sound even rude, but I speak with anger, as along with a friend and member of this forum, we have done an extensive research and an effort to notify the authorities about the whole mess - both on road numbers and signs.

PS1. On the A2 there is a RCS after the Kozani Interchange referring to the Veroia-Naousa-Skydra road bearing... "4 Edessa". Even with wrong color background on the road number (https://www.google.com/maps/@40.3553...7i13312!8i6656).

PS2. If things were more flexible, it could get number (EO)11 as the number fits with the 1963 numbering system provisions.

Yesterday some pupils had the chance to travel through Panagopoula tunnels on A8 before they are officially opened to traffic:

The part from Kiato to Xylokastro is almost ready:

But the part near Aigeira is unlikely to be ready in late March, as it should:

Another video showing the whole new route of the recently opened A5 segment, starting from Kompoti (near Arta) up to 15 kilometres outside the city of Ioannina and then back.

I remember, back when the concession was first announced, it was said that all the tunnels will be having an emergency lane.
Now, I notice that this is not the case. Some of them have, while others don't.
Does anyone know why is that?

(I'm referring to the last video)

@verreme

Because of the terrain in conjunction with the road's curvier, than the rest of the road, alignment.

I was in Lefkada last year and went through this road. When they're going build from Arta to Patra?

A terrible accident happened yesterday on Motorway A1 near Thebes. A speeding Porsche being out of control went out of the motorway towards the rest area and crashed on a parked car whose driver had stopped over to go to the toilet. At the moment of the accident he was in the toilet while his wife and their 3 year old son were in the car. Both died and burned from the fire generated by the accident as well as Porsche's driver. The dead body of the second person in the Porsche found several meters away in the near by fields. There is a video from the security camera in the following link:

Was the bridge and the area around it (A7 video) severely damaged by a landslide or I am wrong?

Yes, you are right.
The major landslide occurred in 2003, exactly where the arch bridge now is.
In addition to this landslide, the Paradisia-Tsakona section was suffering from numerous other, smaller scale subsidences.
The arrows indicate the road.

Wow, that was a huge earth mass splitted off the slope, a pure avelanche. I can imagine how deep it was drilled afterwards in order to stabilize/fasten the bridge construction.

Sloppy ground is also a major problem on the Amfilochia - Arta segment of the Ionia Odos Motorway (A5), which is under construction and will not be completed by the end of March
Here is a video where the whole situation can be seen:
