These "8A" indications on the A7/A8 signs kill me!

8A is the number of the national road that has been (partially for the moment) replaced by the A8. It is supposed we have different numbers and sign shields for motorways and different for the national roads.

But this mess is all over the country - I have been very disturbing in the past writing about this.

Besides these motorways,
A1, A2, A5, A6, A7, A8, A9, A25, A27, A29, A62, A64, A65, and A642,
are there others that have completed sections and are signed as A routes rather than EO routes?

I see that the Motorway Exits site
http://motorways-exitlists.com/europe/gr/greece.htm
suggests that there are a few more, such as A11, A61, A90, A121, A123, and A141, but I haven't found a second source on the web that agrees. I've also looked at a few official Greek motorway operator web sites but they haven't been helpful, perhaps because I don't know who might be building these motorways.

I ask because I'm working on adding the in-service sections of the Greek A routes to my highway clinching web site. Any help is quite appreciated.

A11 is a branch of A1 near Chaldiki. It was completed somewhere late 2009, you can see it U/C in Google Earth.

A61 - I have no idea

A90 is supposed to be the east-west road on Crete, but I doubt if it is up to modern standards.

A121, A123 and A141 are unknown to me, but I also found contradicting sources about the Greek road numbers on the internet, for instance, the German wikipedia had other numbers than the Greek wikipedia.

As I said I have been even disturbing in discussing the road numbering situation in Greece. It is certainly the worst case in Europe and is even lagging a lot of countries in the Third World.

You may see messages 147-148, 152, 170-175, 212, 215-216, 219, 268, 270, 274, 322, 324-325, 422-424, 586-589, 616 and 653-656.

The motorway numbers shown at motorways-exitlists are taken by the official motorway numbering arrangement of the (then) Ministry of the Environment and Public Works issued on January 8th, 2009. But the authorities continue not to sign roads properly.

For example, I have said a lot of times that the prefix A should be shown on motorway shields and a round on photos on this thread shows that this has been done on A2, A5, A25, A27 and A29. On the A1, A6, A7, A9, A62, A64, A65, A642 they never put that A in front, motorways A11 and A61 (only about 100m exist to date just off the A6) have the numbering shields empty (!) and the A8 is signed either as 8 or 8A as said before.

Sorry, but do not bother to consider Greek road numbering matters seriously!
