Maybe it was a car of a Pole who bought an old car in Lithuania . No, no. That's a joke. But every time I see a car with German plates driving through Poland, I'm sure for 99 % that it's not German I think that no German citizen will use his car while visiting Poland.

Yeah, it's bulls, but many people, both in Germany and Poland, still think it's early 90's when it was really not a good idea to come with a German car, but hell, not anymore!

I know a few Poles living in Munich who had their car stolen like 15 years ago and they still think it might happen again. Sad.

I can say that even a few years ago leaving a radio in the car was unwise, but now? I always leave a 120€ CB radio and it hasn't been stolen yet.

^ And if it finally happens again in like 50 years, they will say they were right all along.

I saw a bunch of German cars when I was in Poland, and that was in 2003. I did see a BMW get stolen too though.

Poland felt more save than the Czech Republic, a lot of modern facilities and really friendly people. I think those cowboy stories of people getting carjacked are starting to belong to the past more and more.

This is what I saw when I entered the czech republic a couple weeks ago:

I't is highest - est. 130k-150k vehicles take this interchange every day. AFAIK only one point in Poland got similar traffic volume - that's "Trasa Toruńska" in Warsaw nearby "Grota-Roweckiego" bridge.

.
"Funny" thing is, that Poland is not among european countries with he highest auto theft risk. UK is infaumous leader in this field, and even in Germany they steal (relatively and of course nominally) more cars than in Poland. It's not early 90-s, when things were quite bad (polish criminals were important part of supplying stolen cars on various markets, especially to ex. soviet republics) and when young western car was a distinctive thing on the street. Nowadays Police and insurers claim, that 50-60 percent of autotheft reports in Poland are insurance frauds. Quite possible - dozens of nice cars park around my block every day and night, including high class cars (Q7s, MB CLs, large bimmers, Volvos etc.) and somehow nobody steals them But stereotypes got long life and there's still time to pass before they're gone.

Still leaving unsecured CB-radio or stuff like this is not reasonable - "opportunity makes a thief" and one day You may find, that sth is gone, because some teenage punk needed money for cigarettes and condoms

Looks like I missed the opening of new part of S7 by a week. Oh well, I'm just glad that's it's (although slowly) moving along. I remember when it would take me over 2 hours to get to Krakow from Nowy Targ. Last weekend it took me all of about 80 minutes.

I'm not sure now (read: too lazy to check), but first place in Warsaw metro area is claimed by Janki, where DK7 (corridor Kraków-Warszawa) and DK8 (Katowice/Wrocław-Warszawa) meet and run towards the city. No interchange, simple "Y" crossing with lights.

Btw... Aleje Jerozolimskie (DW719) on stretch from Pruszków to Warszawa has prognosed traffic volume 100 000+. But Regional Government (Województwo) does not have money for proper upgrade...

Look, what is the result of dangerous overtaking in Poland.

No idea how this happened, maybe the driver fell asleep or something.
