Warsaw didn't manage to get a motorway in last 20 years and also before that. Now Euro comes and everything goes smooth

A2 Stryków - Warszawa, 2nd stage of tender, results

Official information of GDDKIA on A2 (Stryków - Warszawa section) tender - results of 2nd stage: subsections from A (west) to E (east)
First number - actual price, second - budget.

Odcinek A zbuduje konsorcjum firm z liderem China Overseas Engineering Group Co. Ltd na czele. Cena to 754,5 mln zł przy kosztorysie 1,7 mld zł.

Odcinek B zbuduje konsorcjum pod kierunkiem Mostostalu Warszawa SA. Oferta zakłada wykonanie prac za 843,5 mln zł przy kosztorysie 1,04 mld zł.

Odcinek C zostanie zbudowany przez China Overseas Engineering Group Co. Ltd. Oferta to 534,5 mln zł, przy kosztorysie 1,1 mld zł.

Kontrakt na odcinek D otrzyma konsorcjum pod kierunkiem firmy Strabag Sp. z o.o. oferta zamknęła się kwotą 643,8 mln zł, przy kosztorysie 1 mld zł.

Natomiast za budowę odcinka E odpowiedzialne będzie konsorcjum pod kierunkiem Budimex-Dromex SA, które otrzyma 425,5 mln zł przy kosztorysie 669 mln zł.

Competitors may still appeal. Agreements have not been signed yet.

Hopefully they will take it very seriously and won't arrange any complaints, I see there are loads of savings though

I would not consider it as major fault of GDDKIA. Budget was planned during prosperous years, while now we have:

1. general slowdown, and less tenders for construction works from private businesses - GDDKIA is important "customer" considering entire Poland,
2. more smaller companies qualified to tender participation, as GDDKIA is splitting now planned roads to shorter sections and has soften formal/financial requirements towards bidders.

Good question: Is government going to spend saved money on other road projects?

If they really save several billion Zlotych, they could speed the process of new motorways up. Like completing S7 and S8 quickly.

I would say that they should do something with S8 to have quick connection between Wroclaw and Warsaw.
Unfortunately on Euro2012 some big part of this road will be still tight DK8

Is the DK8 between Wroclaw and Warsaw 2×1 or 2×2 with at-grade junctions (1×4 as you might prefer)?

3.7. G1 - droga od ul. Pszczyńskiej do WD464 - tędy będzie musiał przejechać każdy wyjeżdżający z Gliwic zarówno na A1 jak i na A4, a także wszyscy podróżni zjeżdżający z autostrad.


3.8. Koniec obecnego kontraktu.


3.9. Na kontrakcie Maciejów - Sośnica jeszcze nie widać prac.

Good to see some signs on the A4 Kraków-Szarów section at last
(even though Korzczowa PL U shouldn't really be there - just Tarnów and
Rzeszów should be sufficient as they are the only two major towns on the
A4 between Kraków and the Ukranian border.
I heard that this section of motorway could be open in October of this year and from the look of the photos we can see that real progress is being made.
Any updates on when this section of motorway will actually open and when works will begin on extending the A4 from Szarów to ?
All that will happen when the Kraków-Szarów section finally opens is that Wieliczka will be rescued from heavy traffic on the E40 bypass

I would say rather next year for Kraków-Szarów

Currently there are tenders in progress on A4 between Szarów and Korczowa
