The Śosnica to Bełk section of A1 Pyrzowice-Gorzyczki looks cool
I'm liking the road surface and colourful viaducts.
Not long until this section opens in October . It will be a short section of motorway but a step closer to reaching the Czech border much more quickly.

Company constructing A4 Kraków-Szarów requested delay of finishing date till December 2009 because of problems with ground stability etc.

I meant the A1 Pyrzowice-Gorzyczki section, from the pictures. I tried to look it up on Google Maps but Google gives two options for each town

It is about time so that the Polish drivers adjust and use 3 lanes accordingly. Once in a while I find myself on A4 motorway between Gliwice and Katowice and I observe a complete lack of skills driving on 3 lane motorway. Vehicles obstinately stick to the middle lane. While a vehicle overtakes another road participant it does it using left lane, which causes road blockage(especially when it relates to lorries) in spite of the fact that right lane in still continuously free! Now, traffic regulations in Poland command driving on the utmost right lane.

I noticed that too, middle lane should be used only if there is a row of slow vehicles on 3rd lane

Interesting news:

Contract for S8 Piotrkow Trybunalski-Rawa Mazowiecka expressway will be signed this coming Thursday. Here is what is interesting about it and what sets it apart from other similar contracts:

- length is 61km (up until now usual expressway contracts were for 20-30km in length to attract more competitors - this expressway one is much longer, quite possibly the longest so far)

- concrete (overwhelming majority of expressways built or U/C in Poland are made of asphalt not concrete, concrete was relegated to some highways only - it's good to see concrete making inroads when it comes to expressway construction)

One "motorway-like" sign (motorway arrow, the rest looks like typical Polsh road sign) is existing on this road already now Near Tomaszow Mazowiecki (direction Wroclaw, Katowice - I'm sure, direction Warsaw - I'm not sure)
