No, I wanted to show the section that will not have an alternative of A1, not the one one that will be reconstructed to A1.

It is indeen fall ocober 2009, but if it is feasible, you need to ask in an appropriate thread, cause I don't know.

Quote:
What is the completion date for the part from Szczecin (A6) towards the Stargard Szczeciński bypass?
More than half of it is already completed, the rest won't be 'in the nearest future', so next 5 years. It is still 2x2, though.

Another thing I read on that wiki page is that the Stargard Szczeciński - Piła part (130 kilometers) is to be completed on december 31st, 2010. How feasible is that? As far as I know, construction for that part hasn't even started yet...
It hasn't and won't in the next 3-5 years, so don't read Wikipedia

Few nice aerials:

Bypass of Bytom - without one-level crossings, but only 1x1

And "Sosnowiec goes back home" - rush hours in Katowice, people from Sosnowiec (250,000 near Katowice) are going home after work. Photos was taken before end of building Murckowska Interchange, so traffic jams was very long

Skrzyżowanie moim zdaniem rozwiązane maxymalnie bezpiecznie. Gdy chcemy przeciąć skrżyżowanie najpierw skręcamy w lewo a później w prawo

Nawet ładne

DK16 Olsztyn

Visualization of the DK16, southern bypass of Olsztyn. It's pretty ambitious, with a six lane motorway, cloverleafs, iconic bridges and even collector/express setups at interchanges.

I'm thinking now - is it neccessery to build there 3+3 expressway ? I don't remember, that traffic near Olsztyn would be so high.

Olsztyn has 175.000 inhabitants. Cities of that size in the Netherlands generally require 6-lane motorways.

Firstly 2x2, later 2x3. Later means "we will see when the traffic reaches full capacity".

Yeah, but Olsztyn hasn't got any aglo, the nearest biggest city is Elbląg (about 120,000), but it's about 100 km away. Near Olsztyn there are no any cities, just few small towns and Olsztyn's area is one of the poorest regions in Poland.

It's a stupid idea to abandon S16 project, at least not part in area of Olsztyn

That makes sense. However, I hope you guys won't run into the environmental problems we have in the Netherlands. Widening a motorway in NL can take over 15 years to get authorization for.

As Poland got new base imagery on Google Earth, one can spot the A2 alignment between the German border and Nowy Tomysl.

When does the winter break usually start? I assume it depends on the weather, but what is normal?

Apart from Groningen and Zealand all of the Netherlands seem to be close together. Poland is like France, some cities, and then hardly any habitation inbetween. You won't therefore find 90% of Ede driving to Arnhem, because the Polish Arnhem equivalent would take 2 hours to reach. (Some data: Netherlands: ~400 people per km˛, Poland 123 people per km˛)

OT: I do know a lawyer, who maintains two flats, and travels by train 2×200km twice a week to meet his wife. Such is life of humanists .

IIRC that has already happened somewhere. It was rather a NIMBY group using the environment as a shield, but you're actually touching an important issue.

Let's just hope that the traffic grows early enough to make present-day environmental decisions still sensible.

...and a bicycle path.

Once I've seen a brilliant response here on SKC to such suggestions: "Because we were forced to 'cut corners' for the forty years of communism, and you know what came out of that".

I mean no offence to you, Xmaster, but you seem to have lived in the same idiotic system. You must know the meaning of the word "almost chocolate" or "almost tea", so please do not suggest that there can be "almost a motorway".
