Great! Weather wasn't too good, but it was worth looking at!

Thanks for the pics! I don't know much about Polish roads; where is the A4 eventually going to end? Will it go all the way to Ukraine?

If anyone is interested:

Tenders for 56.9km of A4 between Szarow and Krzyz(Rzeszow) - continuation of A4 highway in easterly direction towards Ukraine. Stretch was divided into 3 separate tenders.

Total length 56.9km

23.0km Szrow->Brzesko = projected cost 1.5 bln zl, actual cost 779 mln zl
20.9km Brzesko->Wierzchoslawice = projected cost 1.3 bln zl, actual cost 622.5 mln zl
13.0km Wierzchoslawice->Krzyz = projected cost 1.148 mln zl, actual cost 542.8 mln zl

All hail to the economic crisis ! In each instance actual cost is half of projected cost.

Unfortunately, there is only one symbol used to indicate an exit, regardless of the road grade crossing the m-way. We are lobbying the Great and Good of our country to come to their senses and align the signage with our European neighbours. It is a tedious and frustrating process, not too dissimilar to having your teeth pulled out without an anaesthetic.

This is our proposal, which to me seems perfectly reasonble and logical:

So when realistically can we expect construction to start on the
Szarów-Tarnów/Rzeszów section?
Will the A4 just be built all the way toto Tarnów initially or all the way to Rzeszów by 2012?
Zumi.pl hasn't been updated with the Wieliczka-Szarów section showing

Partially true: EU money (which is fixed maximum amount) can be spread among more projects.

Section Warsaw - Suwalki - PL/LT border? It will be completed around 2020 (but some subsections [like Radzymin - Wyszków with theirs bypasses] was built or will be built until 2015) Red line is the future route E67 on this section. Here you can find some maps of this section

Why is Kraków-North specifically signed here, and not only "Kraków"?

I assume Kraków-South will be scrapped here soon? It makes no sense to use DK4 to Kraków-South while there is a perfectly fine A4. Or is it for shunpikers who want to avoid tolls (like they sign in France)?
