It will start in the second half of 2008
This road is based on PPP system, so there is little chance for delay

I am simply AMAZED how much that countryside looks like the scenery here in Wisconsin, especially the central and northern parts of the state!

I have heard that 9.6% of people from Wisconsin, have Polish roots, perhaps resemblance of the landscape was the reason why polish emigrants have choosen this area so willingly. Mike, do you have Polish roots?

My ancestral roots are mostly German, but the same landscape and climate thing applies there. In addition to thousands of Germans, LOTS of immigrant Poles settled here in the Appleton area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, too.

One thing that the anti-immigrant types here have forgotten is that 100 years or so ago, English was a *MINORITY* language here in Wisconsin. Back then about 40-45% of all Wisconsinites spoke German (Appleton had a thriving German-language newspaper at the time, with about 5-10K total population), a third spoke English and the rest a mix of other mostly European languages (ie, Polish, Italian, Dutch, French, etc) with about 1% speaking aboriginal tongues. Within a couple of generations, they had all pretty much fully assimilated on English.

Do you really think A6 is flat? So follow me. Pictures were taken in November.

We start at Morwowa exit and move to Kołbaskowo

Surprise! End of the motorway. That's because this exit is substandarded and will be reconstructed or closed.

Motorway starts again.

Last exit in Poland.

On the top of the hill you can see the border

Yes, I agree. Even I, a dutchman, don't think it is very hilly. There are a few small hills, but it is not as hilly as on the picture in "guess the highway".

Furthermore, I have a question about Polish construction works. What highway sections will be finished this year (according to schedule)?
I heard that the A4 Jedrzychowice -Krzyzowa section will be finished, but what more?
And did they already start with repaving the A18?

Very necessary to repave thishighway

Why would it be substandard? Or the entrance ramp is substandard? Cause the exit ramp seems just fine to me.

Exit lane is narrower than a car. And there's almost no entrance lane. But opposite carriageway is much worse.
Take a look.
