I already couldn't believe this would be a permanent curve for the mainline expressway. Can someone give the exact location of this photo in Google Maps?

Thanks. I thought S69 would follow DK52 more closely and branch off near the Niepodległośći / Wyzwolenia intersection.

This is provisional, a proper speed limit will be introduced here. Somewhere on polish forum there is a detailed discussion covering this.

This "knee" is termination point for new highway along the DK52 corridor and possible new S1 corridor.

So the S69 would eventually extend to Krakow?

No, the S69 extend to Zwardoń (PL/SK). 52 (S52 - maybe in future) extend to Kraków.

I don't know what the plans are, but something about like this seems like a good idea to me. Please excuse the clumsy graphics.

I realize, of course, that there are higher priorities, but it would be a good idea to plan a route and protect it from further development.

Space reservations. Governments never learn that.

The S1 will be build beetween existing S1 Mysłowice and Bielsko-Biała in that way:

Your plans are rather unreal, because this road is routed through many Nature 2000 areas. Near Bukowno and Sławków, there are the only one desert in south Poland. I don`t think, that Polish Government will agree for third road (2x2) Częstochowa - Silesia, but it`s not a stupid idea

Is that a natural desert or a man-made desert? As far as I know, all the deserts in Europe are the man-made consequences of deforestation.

It`s natural desert. Part of it is forested now, but earlier there was only sand

The only natural desert in Europe. Interesting. I suppose that might be worth saving, but I don't believe that building a highway through a nature preserve is necessarily harmful overall to nature. Building a longer highway around it might be more harmful to nature.

Well, but your idea is to build much longer highway than in current plans.

Yes, and it would serve more.

It wouldn't. That map is misleading. It just shows urban communities in grey color not city or towns itself. But in fact there is a bunch of smaller towns with less dense population on your proposed route, than in the original project.

It's not natural :

The Bledowska Sands are the largest (in Central Europe) accumulation of loose sand away from any sea, deposited thousands of years ago by a melting glacier. The appearance of a desert landscape has been created since the Middle Ages, as an accidental effect of mining (zinc, silver, coal), but the specific geological structure has been of big importance - the average thickness of the sand layer is about 40 meters (maximum 70 meters), which made the fast and deep drainage very easy.
