This has not been a good year in terms of new investments unfortunately, we're still barely managing to keep the public debt under 55% of GDP, so there is very little funds for infrastructure investments. Contracts for S12/17 and S8 will most likely be signed in the near future, but that's probably it for this year and the first quarter of 2012.
Thank you for the information. For selfish reasons, I would like to see the S8 completed between Warsaw and Białystok. However, trying to be objective, I think completing the S7 between Warsaw and Kraków should probably be a higher priority. I suppose we'll have to wait a long time for either of them.

- the S12/S17 bypass of Lublin
- the S7 bypass of Radom
- the S7 from Miłomłyn to Olsztynek
- the S8 from Syców to Łask

Admittedly, the last one is rather long. Note that there are currently no A roads out for tender.
Thanks for the link. I didn't notice earlier that the map actualizes itself alone on the same page

I don't really know a lot about the S11 Western bypass of Poznań, but the other stretches you mention are IMO very important for Poland, as currently there is no direct motorway/expressway tie between Warsaw and Kraków & Warsaw and Wrocław. Especially this last one should be a priority for the government, as currently it takes long hours to travel by car or by train from Wrocław to Warsaw.

Anyway, it's good that the sections you mentioned are already out to tender. This means something's moving on. Although too slowly ...

Rest area in America means that there is basically a couple of parking spots, a bathroom, and some picnic tables at the most. MOP is a SERVICE area, where there are food courts, gas stations and bunch of stuff. Just clarifying.

Actually it depends on MOP class. 1st class MOPs are rest areas just with parking spaces and toilets. 2nd class MOPs additionally have gas stations and food courts. On 3rd class MOPs there is a full variety of services, including a hotel/motel.

That's MA532 in the last photo, right? I guess there will be pressure to do as much work on it as possible during the winter.

Yeah, they are making huge progress, but in my opinion that's still not enough to finish it in time. RadoslawJ has prepared a diagram of progress on MA532, there is still a lot to be done. According to his calculations, they'll need about 4 months (assuming they can continue working at this pace, despite the weather) to finish the bridge superstructure.

That's a really cool diagram! Thanks for sharing it. I rarely look in the Polish language forums because I read Polish about like a 9-year old.

Fortunately bridge works are less susceptible to winter conditions than paving jobs.

That looks like northbound S3 and westbound A2. I'm stunned by the fully paved condition of the S3 18 months before the scheduled opening date. It didn't look so good when I saw it in August.

Gentle warm-up before the opening the newest section of A2 to D border, the 7- and 8-year-old "sisters".
