In fact it's called the expensive cycling route.

Center Turn Lane along DK17 in Bełżec, near the Ukrainian border.

Is that configuration rare in Poland? I have never seen a sign like that demonstrating how to use such a turn before.

I like it.
It is pretty much the same idea like in the US. It works fine there, especially in places where there is a lot of entrances to properties on the both side of the road.
Such situations are very common in Poland where built up areas can go for miles, and miles, and miles, and miles....
I hope it will be used more and more often.

This is actually not an approved sign, but is it really needed?

---------

A1 Łódź - Kowal (75 km) opens tomorrow or maybe even today.

Excellent. I assume it will end at the DK1 interchange?

There are some stretches like this on DK17 between Lublin and Warsaw too.

A middle lane for waiting for clear traffic for your turn is very common here in Denmark. But the idea of putting a sign up at all such places is mental. The cost would be astronomical. It is much better to teach proper driving behavior through lessons (while receiving a driving license), rather than through signage.

Ribbon development is quite widespread in Poland I have noticed. It complicates the conversion of national roads to expressways.

Education is always the best but bear in mind that it is close to the Ukrainian border. You can assume that pretty big portion of drivers will be from abroad. They may have different ideas about our road improvements. Signs are clear for anyone.

Sure, but signs create problems, they add to confusion, they slow down traffic, they cost a lot, not just installation but if you want them to do their job you need to spend a lot of time and effort designing them and their placement properly, they need to be maintained and replaced..
The ideal world would be one where the road network would be completely uniform and standardized with as few variations as possible and where all drivers where taught the rules before getting a license.
You will never achieve the ideal world but you should have it as a goal to work towards.

Thing is, road network is not standarized, both this sign and center turn lane are not officially approved (in Poland). I've never seen something like that in my life! It's new in Poland and most drivers have no clue what it is and how to drive on it.

I'm seeing this for the first time too. It's not approved sign, so technically it shouldn't be used. It is clearly an experiment.

I see lots of people on polish section tend to think what's not in regulations, cannot be approved. The sign is just a combination of these two:

with an improvment - red colour added. The sign is clear and easy to get, so where is problem?

Agree with you. Maybe they not approved, maybe that is an experiment but they are clear and obvious so the signs work as they are intended to be.

The cost of road signs is pretty marginal compared to the overall cost of a road project. Just look around you how many road signs there actually are (I skip probably over 50% of the signs by default). A lot of signs are not there to guide motorists, but to get a situation legally watertight.

yep

And as I get it here, these signs are not legally valid in Poland yet as well as that road design...

Speaking of which, some changes in road sign layout are planned. For example warning signs will get a white backgroung instead of yellow, other will be made simplier and smaller(not the overhead ones though). More details will follow soon.
