Check here. http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showth...29804&page=277
S69 Bielsko-Biała - Żywiec is likely to be completed by the end of the year, however it is an optimistic scenario...

It is still a better idea to drive via Jablunkov-Trinec-Cieszyn-S1. You do not need a vignette for Cesky Tesin bypass.

Technically, this is not an autostrada yet.

Also, don't take what is marked pink on the map for granted. Having both S6 and S61 fully completed is highly unlikely, the same for S19 north of Białystok, S3 north of Goleniów and S10 Bydgoszcz-Toruń, also A18 was never mentioned by the minister.

You'll need to buy AT and SK vignettes.

Maybe they think their gods want them to. No other reason makes any more sense than that.

Even if all the gods were to work together on it, I don't think they could complete the S69 between Bielsko-Biała and Żywiec for an opening before the end of 2013.

Expressway variants for Malopolska (Brawl between Tarnów+Gorlice and Nowy Sacz)

Dąbrowa Tarnowska-Tarnów-Gorlice-Barwinek(SK) is IMO more reasonable

Are you sure it is about expressways? It could be just concept of new regular road connection.

The first one is better, here you connect Nowy Sacz (which is a huge city) with A4 and Krakow. Tarnow is already connected with A4 so....

Nowy Sącz isn't a huge city, with circa 80 000 citizens is a medium city. Traffic there is rather low so why build here such an expensive road? Upgrade to GP class will be enough.

That road is a a great idea, because Malopolska region is practically cut off from eastern Slovakia (Carpathians are a big barrier). Economic cooperation should be way bigger there.

But still, the connection with A4 and Krakow is bad. It would be better to set a expressway there. I mean, Nowy Sacz maybe is a medium sized city but a potential city (with a lot of important research centres) that needs a good infrastructure and connecting with other large cities.

The traffic is probably low now, but it might increase in a couple of years.

And because? Almost all economy power of Slovakia lays in Bratislava and near regions, there is almost nothing in east. And it will be served witch A1 and S1 (trough Czech Republic) and S69. On east side will be S19 but after 2020. There is just no demand at all for better road now.

False. Traffic will rise few years and that will be all. Why? One word - demography. So no, there is no need to build there better road. Not at the moment, not before 2020.

When it comes to demography Malopolska is one of the few voivodeships with growing population. Depopulating Dolnoslaskie will have motorway and 3 expressways. This will be one of the most important roads connecting Warsaw with southern Europe. IMO Nowy Sacz doesn't need expressway connection. GP class road is enough for them.

I don't think so. The S8/A1 will be the main connection to Vienna, the S1/S69 to Bratislava. The S17/S19 will get the best connection to Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia,... and the S7 could be a good connection to Budapest Hungary if Slovakia would also build an expressway (but they won't).

Do you know the numbering of the new expressway? Will there also be a extension north of the A4 to the S7 near Kielce? If not, your expressway would not be relevant for any Warsaw connection.

I drove from Krakow to Niedzica on a Sunday morning in May. The road was good, picturesque, foggy on high ground, and not very full (maybe also because it was Sunday).

Yes-there are plans for the Kielce-Tarnow connection. I don't know the numbering. These are plans.

These are not plans, this is science-fiction Anybody can draw a line on the map and say "This is a new planned expressway".

Are there plans to improve the DK6 north of the Kijewo interchange? The pavement is horrible (1930s concrete?) and there are a few at-grade intersections.
