I really hope that in the future all motorway signs will be like this one where cities in neighbouring countries along the motorway are signed rather than border villages within Poland as well as having exit numbers rather than naming exits after the nearest village to it. However I know it will take a very long time to change the habit of a lifetime of signing tiny border villages so it will be decades before all Polish motorways follow this signage

It's pretty hard to catch up with the rest of the world, especially when it means changing the mentality of some decision makers. The most important part is imo behind us already - something has changed up there, we've learned to learn, we're gaining momentum - and I do believe that you're wrong It's not gonna be a long time.

I hope I am wrong about it not taking a long time for motorway signage in Poland to change

A very common attitude is "we've been doing this for decades, so why should we change it". Changing for the sake of changing may not be the way to go, but it's good to get out a rusty "don't change anything ever" attitude.

What is a class GP ˝? The Kłodzko bypass will be built with such standards. Is it a two-lane undivided, grade-separated design?

Yes. Not always grade-separated, but mostly:

Other tenders announced today:
DK8 (74) Bełchatów bypass
DK15 Brodnica bypass (well, technically this is not a bypass)
DK41/46 Nysa bypass
S7 motorway near Skarżysko-Kamienna

When DK99 opens to traffic.

DK96 is now the shortest droga krajowa of Poland: 2 km.

I noticed many new motorway openings in Poland happen during the late evening or even after midnight. Is there a specific reason for that?

Hi everybody! Why the hell DK's are renumbered while opening a parallel motorway section? I mean that "9" before the DK number, like in A1, ex DK1 became DK91.

Basically, because motorways and expressways are actually DK's (there is no higher category of road in Poland). They're just A or S class of DK road, not GP or G.

So, as new sections of motorways are opened, they became basic national roads, and old stretches become alternative national roads and get renumbered.

It would also be confusing to some people if there were two parallel roads with the same number. It would be more difficult to give or to follow directions.
