The contract has been cancelled. (The same as other Polimex's contracts - A1 and S69.) This year is unrealistic. We need to wait till 2015.

Tenders for Design & build - yes. Actual construction could start no sooner than late 2015.

OK thanks. I see Warszawa - Lublin on the list too, that's huge step on so-called Via Carpathia route from LT to eastern SK, it covers more than 40% of that route.

Here is the link to free map of Poland. For me, it's the most frequently and rapidly updated. You can load this map to Garmin devices too.

Poland plans to spend up to 90 bln PLN (approx. 30 billion $) in the next 5-6 years on highway/expressway contruction. Half will come from the EU, the rest from state budget.

Thats great news, road investment pays out dividends!

What does that mean in terms of the projects that will get funded ? Is that on par with the targets for 2020 or does that mean there will be more projects funded then previously planned ?

Pawel

We Poles have some serious problem with selection of COLOURS.
Photo above, is kind of evident proof of this statement, IMO.

Only a little bit problem. Like putting red and white reflector sticks instead of black and white, it is genius

That viaduct has more problems than just colours, like... why are there only four lanes and why have that big green ****** thing instead of just keeping box-girder type design all along?

Why should there be more then four lanes? It's inner city road. What it lacks, is bike lane and sidewalk.

Because city officials at the time wanted something which will stand out and be unique in country. Mission accomplished, however I'm not quite sure if this is the way they wanted.

Because in 20 years, you will be stuck in traffic on it burning the olej napendowy you paid 5 euros per litre for wishing there was 6 or 8 lanes there, because of traffic increase of German / British economic migrants taking advantage of EU freedom of movement and upcoming Polish economic miracle (since 2020)

Fcuk Me.

A Bridge structure in the Irish National Colours. Wish the cable stayed bog bridge in Cavan was a nice mix of Green and Orange like that instead of a dirty grey just to keep the ecomadmen happy.

Well done to Poland.

I have to say I prefer clean grey of concrete so common in Ireland and Britain.
But it is hard to judge personal color preferences.

Regardless of colors I find this bridge just plain ugly. Heavy, overengineered, flashy, stupid. Those are only few words which come to my mind when I look at this monstrosity.

It not among my favorite bridges in Poland, but I do generally like the (usually) nicely colored bridges in Poland.

Frankly, as it will still be an inner city road, and all the traffic will be out on expressway ring or midcity ring or one of thoroughfares, I still see no reason to be stuck at it :P

I prefer this one, not only because of the colours
