We have had more than our fair share of upheavals but perhaps none as technologically significant as the road building programme of recent years. Even today, with all the construction activities happening around me, I still shudder with a sense of awe and fail to comprehend fully just how far and how fast we have come.

I sincerely hope that this magnificent bridge spanning an unassuming brook will contribute to our continued onward progress; expand, strengthen and enrich our knowledge, add economic value and bring closer together the people of this beautiful part of the world on both sides of the PL/CZ border.

So here is to another road opening event, one of the longest engineering projects in our region, at least in my living memory. Arguably and controversially innovative, visionary and challenging from an engineering perspective, much anticipated, lethal like cold steel to many of those who dared to reach to claim its prize, long in the making but at long last permanently here.

Wow, with speech like that you should be politician.
Maybe MEP?

Almost sounds like a presidential speech

No chance.

The latest news is that it might not open until the end of the year, as they've just discovered that the so-called "Friendship" oil pipeline is causing considerable construction difficulties.

Presidential speech? Nah, just a spontaneous outpouring of pent up emotion in response to a paradigm shift. Because if it were a presidential speech it would have run something like this:

The current administration can neither confirm nor deny that toll charges will be introduced at Mszana bridge before the next election

… or better still

Read my lips, I did not have sex with Monica Lewiński on Mszana bridge, we did it in the bushes

But I digress, so back to topic. Here are some hot-off-the-press pictures of MA532 in use. Enjoy!

Construction of Krakow's bypass bridge will start in August. 9 companies want to build it.

Perhaps not one of Poland most beautiful bridge designs, but at least it's not boring.

I agree. I don't like this bridge for the S7 Kraków eastern bypass either. Hard grey concrete

Nothing that a bit of pink paint can't solve!

Seriously, why on earth are they sticking with grey? Poland is becoming very colourful, why ruin it?

(having said that, architects at the minute are salivating over grey and concrete)

Looks perfect on visualization. But I'm afraid, finally they gonna use kitschy paint and ruin it totally. Because Poland is not a country, it's a state of mind...

We had decades of everything being grey, what's wrong with some colour?
