As long as you sit on it 30 cm over road level that's true otherwise you would have to really try to be cutted into pieces

Also announced today is the signing of the contract for the start of construction of 13 km of S5 between Krościna and Marcinowo. Dragados has 30 months to design and build the expressway http://www.gddkia.gov.pl/pl/a/16294/...fragment-trasy . This section is adjacent to section Wrocław Nord (A-8)-Marcinowo; the contract for construction of this section was signed on 10th September 2014.

Now the whole 48 section between Wrocław Nord (A-8) and Korzeńsko is under construction; this section costs 1,482,000 PLN (including 23 % VAT). The end date is December 2017

Someday it will… but not in the nearest decade.

Maybe. But that will not happen in the next 20 or more years. Currently there are no plans to continue S7 to the border.
There are even no plans to build S7 from Kraków to Myślenice!

Traffic between PL and SK will be served by S69/D3 to the west and S19/R4 to the east. But S19/R4 probably won't be built in the next ~15 years either.

This is so badly needed that it's not even funny. It'll mean D2 between Leszno and Wroclaw, so driving time should be reduced to around 1.45 between Poznan and Wroclaw. If the A2-Stęszew section can get built in the same time period, then it should cut driving time closer to 1.30 - which really will make a huge difference.

On related news, there's still no completion date for the S11 Poznan bypass. Sigh.

S69 looks finished?

DK8/S61 may look finished, but it will not be opened until this road gets upgraded, and works here will end in November.

Haha, Polish government must pay taxes to itself on its own spending, like plugging an extension cord into itself

More like taking a bucket of water from one end of a swimming pool and then pouring it into the other end, after spilling some along the way.

I believe that in every EU country, the services for government-sponsored investment is subject to VAT.

They gave up on these wire barries in Ireland after deploying them for a few years and went with concrete "Jersey Barrier" instead. Apart from the danger to motorbikes they do not stop trucks crossing over.

As Poland carries a lot of long distance HGV traffic from neighbouring countries there is always a risk of a truck driver losing control ( being tired or having a heart attack perhaps) and crossing to the far side where a very nasty collision could happen.

The Irish ones are continous barriers (the technical term is slipformed or extruded) not made of 3 or 4m blocks end to end.
