Hello

I moved to the US a few years ago for work; but planning to return home to Poland in the near future, cant wait to be back home!! I've been following all the construction projects religiously; and i'm more than excited to see all the new roads and projects; however i know this question has been asked many times here, who and why on earth is going insane with these dam sound barriers, and aside from noise pollution; what are the reasons??? i mean not only are they on the main highways, they are on exits, and local roads, and even bridges, i'm worried when i go out for a drive on the country side it wont be enjoyable as all ill see is green walls? aren't Polish people sick and tired of this insanity! you'd swear there are more sound barriers than actual roads, does anyone on here have any insight on the matter, or where are the funds coming from for this? I'm so tired of seeing these beautiful roads ruined by these hideous sound barriers, someone needs to stop this; probably the most picturesque highway in Poland S69 is literally barried the whole way; as a driver forget about enjoying the scenery!

Węzeł Gliwice-Sośnica

It's huge, the biggest interchange in central Europe.

DW764. New bridge over Wisła in Połaniec. Part of a bigger project - new route between Kielce and Rzeszów.
The bridge will be opened next week.

Can this marvellous piece of infrastructure be protected against the coal-mine underground damage (so common in Upper Silesia)?

Yes, as I have just now read that on the Motorway openings around the world thread. I therefore retract my comment about S69 (but not about S61 Augustów bypass and rest of it up to Suwałki South)

Note the bat guidance portals over the motorway. There are like 3 or 4 of them in that area. I drove there last year, quite a nice motorway.

Last section of S69 (which connects to D3 in Slovakia) is on the reserve list.

Even if S69 is finished there is still a gap between Bielsko-Biala and Myslowice where S1 ends... So Bielsko-Biala will become the only city in Poland connected via motorways to Slovakia and Czech rep but not to the rest of Poland...
BTW that existing S1 is missing in Kemo's map above.

I thought expressway should serve national traffic in first place, not international one...

personally I like Slovakians, but not as much to go there every second day...
lets clean up road bottle necks on our own backyard first.
