In fact, it's not. Current traffic and prevision for 2020 on this portion of A4 states that the flow is and will remain mostly under 10'000-15'000 vehicles per day. 2x2 is amply sufficient in that case - which btw., is not a reason not improve this portion, per ex., by adding proper shoulders and better entry/exit; all of that could have been done during the 5 years long renovation/reconstruction .

On the other hand, many 2-lane roads passing through towns and villages, DK roads, and brand new motorways but "only" 2X2, have much higher traffic than here. If widenings are needed, and proper dual carriageway at least, it's on these roads.

Above forecasts are outdated, so you can put it somewhere but not here.

These are general road traffic countings from 2010. The next one will be released by the end of this year - every 5 years. Though, if have you got better prognosis to display, please do it, or it's just speculation.

As we got through Germany, there was the German-Polish Border with huge traffic jams (it took ca 2 hours to pass the border). After that, we were greeted by the National Road "4", with more traffic jams in Boleslawiec (also took approx. 2 hours to pass Boleslawiec and to get to the motorway). Then, we finally got to the motorway but ,and let me tell you, it was a pain in the ass (literally ! ) 90km of rumbling and a maximum speed of 80 km/h! Luckily, after Wroclaw, the well renovated motorway was a little excuse.

Nowadays, travelling to poland takes maximum 9 hours! It really gets me when I think about how painful the travel to poland was 10 years ago...
I remember the time before A1 was opened. It took me once 10 hours to get from Gdańsk to Kielce (durschnitt speed 47 km/h). This year, despite through Łódz, it took me 5h50. I expect getting below 5h once Łódź bypass is complete.

Another good news is that while 10 hours trip included breaking speed law where possible, now I can get 5h50 without excessive speeding.

I noticed the design of the Goleniów-North interchange (S3/6). It will be reconstructed in a way that allows a western extension of S6 towards Police. Do they have long-term plans to maybe link S6 up to German A20 near Pasewalk?

The thing is that this section of A4 needs to be upgraded. And since it requires massive roadworks and building most viaducts from scratch, it would be a waste not widening it to 2x3 lanes on this occasion. Wouldn't it?

Nope.

(But this is a science-fiction project at this moment.)

The tunnel under Odra (which is the most important part of this road) is science-fiction.

It appears that almost the entire S6 is now being tendered, except for Sianów - Słupsk. GDDKiA is on an all-out offensive to get as many motorways built before the opposition ruins road construction plans.
