In HK, it's mostly Japanese and European cars. Cars in HK are pretty expensive but the city's upper class can afford to buy luxury or sports cars such as The Ferrari or Rolls Royce. HK still has the largest fleet of Rolls Royce in the world.

Toyota is the most common Japanese car that you'll see in HK followed by Honda and Isuzu.

The most common would be

Toyota Crown (the stardard vehicle for HK taxis)

Toyota Hi-Ace

Just because much of the taxi fleet is made up of those Toyotas does not mean the rest of Hong Kong's motor vehicles are predominantely Toyotas. That's a major logical flaw. In fact, taxis make up a very small percentage of Hong Kong's motor vehicle population.

Here is some data from the government :
http://www.td.gov.hk/FileManager/EN/..._1853/0612.pdf

As of December 2006 :
- 47,992 registered and 35,920 licensed motorcycles
- 393,756 registered and 360,427 licensed private cars
- 18,138 registered and 18,031 licensed taxis
- 122,451 registered and 111,726 licensed goods vehicles

65% of licensed motor vehicles in Hong Kong are private cars. Taxis only account for a mere 3%. DO NOT extrapolate the 3% to the 97%.

I don't think you can claim Toyota is the most common vehicle unless you have the relevant statistics and also consider the huge goods vehicle fleet of over 122k.

We call it atos, and yes its very popular, a cheap and good city car, generally huyndai is making good money in greece, accent was best seller for 2006, and the company has been awarded 3 times as the best value-for-money car company.

Chevrolet Caprice (a 1984 model is pictured here, it is perhaps the most commonly seen):

Didn't you post pics of almost ALL cars you can find in Greece?
What are the models you can see at least 10 times a day (I'm sure there are lots of Cayenne in Greece and Audi A6 in China, but are they really the most popular?).

that's not true. In Holland, almost every taxi is a Mercedes. But you won't see many expensive cars on the streets. That's because on cars for private persons is a so called "luxury tax". If you by a car you have to pay additionally the VAT (19%) and the luxury tax (48%!!!!). You see, buying a car is very expensive in Holland. But not for taxidrivers, the don't pay the VAT en they don't pay the luxury tax. They also don't have to pay a special tax to use the roads. So, they can afford themselves a Mercedes while private persons with can hardly afford themselves a middle class car.

A6 is indeed very popular in China, 10 times a day? I could see probably 50 times a day or more.

and Audi A6 was cheaper than Toyota camry before Toyota got license to produce its camry in China, import tax screwed up the price.
Compared to other luxury brands like BMW,Mercedes or Lexus, Audi is doing especially well, notice I didnt post any BMW?

top sellers in Chinese market:
1 Shanghai GM
2 FAW(Changchun) Volkswagen
3 Chery (domestic)
4 Shanghai Volkswagen

so 2 out of the 4 top sellers are partially owend by VW group, together they are BY FAR the best seller in China.

China is the second largest market for VW group after Germany. VW/AUDI are common here, Golf, Jetta, Bora,Passat,Gol,Santana,Santana 2000,Polo,Caddy,A4,A6,A8,TT,Skoda Octavia,Skoda Fabia, Seat...you name it, all of them are here. VW/Audi even has a demonstration centre in Beijing's Oriental Plaza (not for sales, just for people to learn about the cars and have a good time). It's the only one of its kind in Beijing.

please limit the number of the pics, only post the most common types.

I also forgot another one, the Indian Honda City is also common in China, known as Honda Fit, it has two body types, one is sedan,(same as the riced up one) and there is also a hatchback. This car is quite popular in Japan and other parts of Asia as well, and is also sold in North America. In Europe it's known as Honda Jazz.

I've read that the most sold car in China is the VW Santana.
By the way, I also read that the Car of the Year 2006 is the Citroen C-Triomphe, so what about Citroen in China?

Mazda sold 250 000 vehicles in whole Europe last year. The RX8 represents 10% of the sport car segment of the maker, not of all sales. So do you really think the Mazda RX8 is one of the most common cars in your city?!! Or did you just wanted to show us a beautiful car ?

Actually in Greece(and in Europe i believe) 90% of the taxis are Mercedes(for really obvious reasons), as for the pick the car in the backround is a BMW x-5, which is really popular.

All those cars i posted and some more to be honest can be seen more than 10 times a day, as for the porche i did said that it is popular in my city not generally in Greece, and many times when some friends form other cities are coming to my city, one of their comments is "wtf you have a lot of those porche cars".

I agree Mercedes are very popular in all Europe. (In taxi but not only)
I view a mercedes E class more than 500 times on a day.

American cars are not very popular but sometime I see some 300C in Taxi

Cirtroen ZX is quite common, it's up there with VW Jetta, VW Santana as one of the big threes. but it has become somewhat obsolete now (not in production anymore, but still a lot on the street).PSA group has also produced some of its newer models in China(for example Peugeot 307) but it's not as common.

Citroen ZX(called Fukang in China), comes in both sedan and hatchback, also a newer modified version called Elysee.
Fukang

Elysee

Chinese Peugeot 307.(compete with VW Bora)

C5 is also being produced in China, this car was also ridiculously expensive when it was imported, now the price has dropped I think it will generatea lot of sales because of the car's unique styling in the mid-level luxury segment and abundance of features.

It is the same car. It's called Fit in Japan/Asia/North America, Jazz in Europe, and City in India.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_City

Is there hatchback version of City available in India>

There are also a lot of Buick in China, but most are rebadged.
Buick Regal (real buick)

Buick Excelle(rebadged Chevy/Daewoo)

Buick GL8(rebadged GMC)

China has interesting cars lol. we get a whole bunch of interesting and weird cars. the names/brands are so confusing. We get the the same Corolla/Accord/Civic Americans are getting, not the European version, yet we also get a bunch of Citroen/Peugeot/Renault/Fiat most Americans have never heard of. and the no.1 selling GM brand is Buick in China, who would have thought that lol. The second is Chevy and the third is Cadillac, those are the only two brands GM uses in China.
