The Guthrie Pavilion
The Guthrie Pavilion in Shah Alam, Malaysia, was designed by T. R. Hamzah & Yeang in 1998 and is a nautical-themed pavilion is a golf clubhouse with office space. Three masts hold five canopies that protect the building form the sun and aluminium louvres further help energy considerations.

Drawing inspiration from the original pre-fabricated panels of the wall of the Malay house, the glass-reinforced concrete panels were designed to reproduce the plain panels as well as intricately carved flower patterned panels. The museum building complex can be extended without compromising on original design concept.

Located atop a hill in the Lake Gardens, this centre for Space Science Studies is indicative of Malaysia's efforts to create a scientifically and technologically-inclined society.

It features a cinema where you can catch a different movie everyday at the Space Theatre or experience what an astronaut feels in zero gravity on the Shuttle Spaceball. There is also a working observatory equipped with a 14-inch telescope.

Museum of Royal Traditions And Customs - Kota Bahru, Kelantan

Museum of Royal Traditions and Customs,
Istana Jahar was a token from
Sultan Mahmud II to his grandson, Long Kundur."




Built in 1887 by Sultan Muhamad II for his grandson Long Kundur, this former palace, Istana Jahar, is now a museum. The intricate wood carvings are testimony to the superb craftsmanship of the Kelantanese. Photographs, artefacts and exhibits on Kelantan's rich cultural heritage will keep visitors enthralled.

An epitome of the uncompromising standards of Kelantanese wood craftmanship, this beautiful palace is adorned with intricately carved wooden panels. A tour of this museum will reveal the grandeur of the Kelantanese traditional ceremonies and customs. Inside, visitors can find an extensive collection of Kelantan's historical documentation, rare artefacts, photographs and exhibits which portray the state's rich cultural heritage.

Tractor Malaysia Engineering Complex, Puchong, Selangor

In 1998, WCT Construction Sdn Bhd secured a contract to construct and build a five storey office building with a basement, a two storey training centre and canteen, 2 double stereo workshop, a two storey warehouse and two utility buildings for Tractors Malaysia (1982) Sdn Bhd. The mandate called for not only infrastructure and building structure and finishing but also external and internal M&E works complete with building automation system.

Sepang F1 Circuit

The Sepang F1 Circuit was voted the world's 'most challenging' track by F1 drivers and has been rated as one of the world's best. The Sepang F1 Circuit is a proud achievement by WCT Engineering Berhad, the lead member of the JV among WCT Engineering Berhad, Ahmad Zaki Resources Berhad and Murray & Roberts (M) Sdn Bhd. The state-of-the-art circuit was completed in a record time of 14 months and in recognition of its ultramodern facilities, it is the only circuit in the world allowed to incorporate the F1 logo on its official name.

The Sepang F1 Circuit, from aerial view, signifies a hibiscus, the national flower of Malaysia. The circuit was built in stadium-type concept, with the track recessed in the valley. The circuit has a double frontage grandstand overlooks the two longest straights, which hosts up to 100,000 spectators. This challenging race track is 5.542km with 16m width (up to 25m width at turn 15). There are 15 turns in total, and the longest straight is 927.543m at the start-finish line.

Topped by a shiny copper dome and a 40m high clock tower, it is a major landmark in the city. It serves as the backdrop for important events such as the National Day Parade on August 31 and the ushering in of the New Year. This heritage building used to be occupied by the then Apex Court of Malaysia, the Supreme Court which was subsequently renamed the Federal Court. The Court of Appeal was also housed in this historic building. The Federal Court and the Court of Appeals have since moved to the Palace of Justice located in Putrajaya, the new Federal administrative capital. The Sultan Abdul Samad Building now houses the Commercial Division of the High Court of Malaya.
