Wow! Thanks Skymino

It looks like they are working on the foundations at basement level, judging by the surrounding ground level. This is an amazing development!

This morning an Italian forumer posted a very nice rendering of CityLife he found on commercial publication

I like it very much as it is the most updated version of the project and in the view of the city (apparently taken in September) you can even see part of Porta nuova rising cluster

Great news. Did they also already start with the work on the 'Lo Storto' and 'Il Curvo' towers?

Bravo Milan, it will look a lot more prominent than Porta Nuova Garibaldi when complete.

I don't remember now how it is exactly scheduled, but within 2012 they both will start; 'Storto' first, then 'Curvo'

These three towers will be a real landmark for the city and an iconographic mini-cluster of top quality. You rarely see a project of this impact in Europe (skyscrapers+park+metro+museum+houses).
Uc tower in Porta Nuova will still be the tallest building in Italy, though, thanks to its super-prominent spire.

A very exciting project indeed! More on the scale of a Chinese city, than a European one.
Although not the tallest (but only by 11m?), it will look very prominent in comparison because it doesn't rely on a spire for it's height - the same as with the Heron Tower in London which doesn't compare with 1 Canada Square or the to be completed Leadenhall Building which will be right next to it and is 5m shorter (but doesn't have a spire).
I will be watching this sites construction with great interest over the next couple of years and hope to visit Milan for the first time next Spring.

Unfortunately, Il Dritto will not be 220 m, but it will be 202 m, 18 m lower. Nevertheless it will look very prominent and if you watch it from the "Tre Torri square" it will be 210 m ( Tre Torri square is approximately 8 m under ground level)

Actually the square floor is not exactly at ground level but 5 meters higher.
Then the total height of Dritto from ground level will be 207 m
